Any fellow Aussie shmup fans?

Post by Signius Layzar »

Stick a prawn on the tated barbie! :P

Hi all, I decided to join here after purchasing Mushihimesama (so I could post my scores), brilliant game!

I was just interested in knowing if there are many fellow shmup fans here from Australia. I post on a popular Australian Forum called Hyperactive and there's only one other chap who posts consistently in our shmup thread which is a bit sad.

Please check out and, if you'd like, post in the shmup thread. I go under the name of Lobster at this forum. Keep the scene alive in Australia!

Hi,

the guy (StorminNorman) consistently posting in the mentioned shmupthread is a member here too. Not posting that much though.

There are some other members from Australia if I recall correctly. Looking in the membershiplist reveals that Reiki is also from the big island and I know there are some more (who haven't disclosed their location in their profile).

Woooo, more Aussie shmuppers!

Ord has already joined Hyperactive and is posting in the shmup thread (making us all jealous with his Ibara setup :P), I hope you guys/girls do the same. ;)

Do any of you play Mushihimesama? We'll have 4 people with the game when Ord's copy arrives, I'm hoping to have a scoreboard if I can get a few more people with the game.

I'm from Canberra btw, been pretty much everywhere in Australia (dad's in the Navy so we've travelled a bit for his job) and we ended up here! Oh well, what can you do. :P

I've been into shmups for a fair few years now, my friend actually got me into the genre when he came back from Japan - He'd bought a copy of a little game by the name of Radiant Silvergun. I went over to his house for the regular DC session of Soul Calibur or MvC2 and he puts the game on. "What the hell is this?" says I. Needless to say, we played the game all night and I had discovererd the holy grail of gaming, shmups (what an introduction too!).

Here is my shmup setup if anyone would like to take a look:
