New Shmup - Helicopters in Space! now available for iPhone

Hey guys,

I saw that this board had a topic about shmups with outer space helicopters. This made me laugh since I recently made an iPhone game titled Helicopters in Space!

I would describe the game as a retro-style shmup with a bizarre-style. I was going for a look and feel that is humorous and where anything can happen!

Don't be expecting replies straight away, it only aids to annoy people. Really, double & triple & quadruple etc posting is only useful when you actually have something of value yourself to say.

On topic, I don't own an iPhone myself, (too expensive here) otherwise I'd test this game.

I don't have an iPhone so I can't test, but seriously? It looks like garbage. Appears you have a health bar, all the backgrounds are the same but with a different color, enemies are lame, usual laughable trailer captions (RETRO EPIC SHOOTER, lol) etc. I really hope the frame rate isn't as bad as it is in those videos you have on your site.

Sorry you don't like the look of it.

There is a life bar, but the game is quite challenging. There are no lives, so you have to beat the level in one-go with a single life bar.

You are correct, the backgrounds are all the same, but each stage has a unique set of enemies.

The frame rate is solid on an iPhone 4, but is a little sluggish on older models. It is something I am looking to address in a future update. I agree the trailer makes it look a bit sluggish.

That's a fair point regarding the generic trailer language. I was going for a bizarre, humorous game, so perhaps the trailer should have highlighted those elements.

Thus far, the overwhelming feedback I have received is the game is more fun than it looks. Something to consider should you purchase an iPhone
