Don't feel too bad, as first-print buyers got the soundtrack CD, and now everyone who held out can at least play the game for a better price.

EDIT: Come to think of it, how many copies does a game have to sell in Japan to get a "Platinum" version? The impression around here seemed to be that Galuda II didn't sell that well...

Huh, first print comes with a soundtrack? Aren't you thinking of the limited version?

Yes, the regular first print has two discs.

I didn't expect a Platinum version either. First-week sales were around 12.3k according to Famitsu (lower than DS and Futari) and according to them it didn't break 24k over the full year.

Slightly OT, but this seems to hint that even DFK might get a Platinum version.

Is that counting online sales? Because if not, the figures are way off. IIRC Cave has said several times that online sales contribute a very significant portion to the overall amount.

In that case, it might be a good excuse for reconsidering a region free release. :)

No, neither Famitsu nor Media Create include online sales. And yeah, I'm aware that this could be potentially very significant for 360 games in Japan as a whole. Did Cave say anything more detailed about it?

...My two assumptions are that the scales haven't tipped so far that the majority of sales are online now, and that a typically front-loaded genre hasn't grown long legs. Maybe I'm completely off base, but I'd be very pleasantly surprised if the real number is at or over 30k.

Your optimism is adorable, but unsubstantiated and most likely hopeless. 8)

If Cave dont get themselves an US publisher ild say there is a resonable chance of this or a RF WL/BL full priced release happening

I found this game recently. Is there a FAQ somewhere online? I can't really understand how to take advantage of the different attack features. Also, Black label mode is confusing. you push bullets out of your way? Thanks!!

In case anyone wasn't sure if the Platinum release would also be region-free, looks like it will be.

I find it funny that Esp2 Platinum and Futari Platinum are cheaper than most domestic 360 disc games.

That's, uhh, the point of the Platinum Hits collection. Most Platinum Hits releases stateside are no more than $20.

With added shipping, customs, VAT and other import fees, I ended up paying more for Futari Platinum than I've ever paid for, I guess, more than 99% of my other games.
The base price, however, is great. But that's less than half of what I actually paid for the game.

Ugh, really? I just ordered Futari but I think I'm going to change my order. Does anyone know the best option for shipping to reduce import fees? If brokerage is a courier added fee would choosing airmail allow me to avoid at least that fee?

It depends on the country you live in. Denmark where I live is especially bad with this stuff.

Indeed, living in Russia I only have to pay meager 1650 JPY (<20$) for delivery, and that's it. Espg2 going Platinum basically dictates me to make another AmiAmi order by the end of the month. :)

Anyone here with a US 360 get the Platinum re-release yet?

I'm wondering if it's really region-free as someone on another forum says the disc won't work for him.

Oh thanks moozooh and Sumez, I replaced the order using airmail. Hopefully I don't get charged too badly. If this charge is under 100% of the price I might pick of Espgaluda II as well.

I'll get this when Play-Asia restocks Futari....I was hoping to get them together, but of course when I finally have the money they're "backordered" on Futari :(

I did the same thing when I ordered Esp2 and Futari together, and Play-Asia also promised to ship them together....

Only they didn't. Probably increased my total tax fee with around $40 extra.

Never shopping at Play-Asia again.

Out of curiosity, where do you online shop for shmups?

I'm considering getting ESPGaluda II soon and I've been looking around but I'm kinda ignorant since the only websites I know of are Play-Asia and NCSX. I've heard various things about each.

NCSX is A+ if you're in the US.

Ordered from them probably 7 times, never had a problem.

They even packaged my Bullet Soul and Eschatos orders together and shipped them on release, even though I think my Eschatos was past some pre-order inventory date.
