CGCC Spring Swap Meet - Kitchener, Ontario, Canada - 5/15/11

Post by maxlords »

Hey guys!

While not entirely a shmupmeet, I'm sure there'll be some shmups for sale at this fine event ;)

Sunday May 15th 1 - 4 PM!
Kitchener Moose Lodge
655 Wabanaki Dr
Kitchener, ON N2C 2G3

We've moved to a new location only a few blocks from where the old swap was located! The new location is four times the size, so no more worries about running out of tables or overcrowding! Rear entrance available for dealers to unload and load as well!

The Moose Lodge also has a liquor license so those of you that want to, beverages will be available (though they have to stay at the bar). Food is not available but there are some good local pizza places if people want to throw together an order!

As always, door prizes and lots of games! We should have room for a few competitions too....details to follow :)

Hope to see a few of you there!

Someone from the CGCC forum was nice enough to give me a ride there, as he lives in Newmarket and can come along the way. We'll definitely have to get together later.

Now you're gonna make me crack it out..... *sigh*

LOL....figures. I plugged it in and it worked flawlessly with no issues. Go figure. There's a fair bit of corrosion on the JAMMA edge connector, so the last couple times I plugged it in, you could only go left (or right...I forget). It's probably cleanable, and it boots flawlessly. No issues with graphics or sound. Have no idea what I'd ask for it...was thinking $40 or so but with it working 100%....? What the hell does a 100% board go for anyway?

I'll plug it in a few more times and see if the issues come back....

EDIT:

Looks like there are intermittent issues due to the contacts. Out of five tries, two of the times I plugged it in, button 2 didn't work so you couldn't jump. When I tried the 2nd player, button 2 didn't seem to work any of the times I tried. I'm assuming this is all from the contacts being rather filthy and corroded...but I'm not sure what to clean em with (never had one with corrosion like this before, only dirt). PM me if ya want it, etc! :)

:D
There were a lot of NES/SNES/PS1 stuff though; not a lot I was particularly interested in as my main priority was rare imported games.

Yeah....I was bummed that there wasn't really anything for imports besides my buddy's DC lot (which was too obscure for most people and will be up for sale on the forums soon...no shmups tho)
