EDIT: There's no Genesis rev? I thought there was. Which home rtev is the best?
OK, I downloaded this today in MAME and cannot believe I never played it 'till now, so fun. I love games that rip off the Alien films and the old Sega magic is there. Also love the slime that comes out of aliens when you cook 'em. 2 quick questions:
1.Is the Genesis version pretty much arcade perfect?
2.When I play it in MAME, the emulator crashes after the game over screen appears, anyone else experience this?
A few quick Alien Syndrome questions.

Re: A few quick Alien Syndrome questions.
As far as I know, There isn't a Genesis or Megadrive version. There is a Master System version, but it seems to have different levels from the arcade, or at least different level order. It's definatly not arcade perfect.Dylan1CC wrote:OK, I downloaded this today in MAME and cannot believe I never played it 'till now, so fun. It's the SEGA Ages re-release that Dylan1CC mentioned. I actually liked it quite a bit (and according to some reviews I read, I'm not alone). It has the level layout of the original with some cool tweaks like more enemies on screen and Smash TV style control. From the sounds of it, the NES version may actually be one of the better home ports. The Tengen version is actually the same as the Japanese version. Very odd how the Japanese version was lincensed by Nintendo and the US version wasn't. Even stranger how the US Fantasy Zone was different when Alien Syndrome seems to be the same as the Japanese version. After Burner US NES is also based on the Japanese Famicom version (After Burner II), but has some odd graphical changes.GaijinPunch wrote:THere's a prettty non-impressive PS2 (Sega Ages 2500) version as well.
