Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
I'm not saying it's impossible, just the chances of finding someone who can do it and has the time/motivation to are fairly low. (Obviously I'm up to my ears in projects I'm working on myself!)
Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
One of the most interesting shooter threads ive read so far

This has just appeared on the 2ch board but I can't work out if it's relevant or not:

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
Seems to be relevant, he talks about "although I said I was done", and mentions a warning from Cave. Unless I misread that part, he says that "the pass is guwa", but I can't get any kind of iteration of that in hiragana, katakana or romaji to work at all. I tried ぐわ, ぐわんげ, グワ, グワンゲ, guwa, guwange, GUWA, gwange, g-wange, G-WANGE, G-Wange, Gわんげ...
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
Holy shit, the filesize is something shocking compared to Gwange-Dash. Does this have inbuilt movies or some fancy junk like that?
I hope someone besides me is downloading this for prosterity's sake, if it gets taken off I'd hate to see it just disappear into the darkness like GwangeDash Final did.

Thanks- I think you mentioned this version before.hzt wrote:It's the original G-Wange[longname], not Dash. Pass should be GWA.
It's a pity this didn't get any further cos it's lots of fun (but very unbalanced) and it's got that analytical scoreboard that GwangeDash needs so badly.
Wonder what's coming next

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
Excuse my ignorance but what words go to what boxes, ive tried a few ways but just keeps bringing a new PW box up
maybe someone could simplifiy it for us mere mortals

"GWA" in upper box and whatever's displayed in the captcha panel (to the right of the lower box) in the lower box.Tetsuo wrote:Excuse my ignorance but what words go to what boxes, ive tried a few ways but just keeps bringing a new PW box up

As has been said before, getting the game is a game in itself

Hopefully I'm not just plain stupid, but is there really no way to continue in Gwange-dash? I'm not good enough to get very far at all.
Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
As long as you get to at least Stage 2 a Continue option appears in the main menu but you have to start from the beginning of your last stage every time.Thjodbjorn wrote:Hopefully I'm not just plain stupid, but is there really no way to continue in Gwange-dash? Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
The original G-Wange is not worth wasting your bandwidth on. It's pretty lackluster and unremarkable, and it has absolutely nothing to show for the obscenely large download size. Dash is better in every single aspect than its predecessor, and the download size is very economical.
Bottom line:
If you can get access to a copy of Dash, go play that instead.

I've yet to have gotten hold of GwangeDash Final but I've got v0.999 with most if not all of the patches installed on it so I guess that's as good as I'm gonna get.Samurai Fox wrote:The original G-Wange is not worth wasting your bandwidth on. Good thing I didn't finish downloading that old waste of space GwangeRugaLongname, no reason for being 400 MB is quite shocking indeed.

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
If the link for the 400mb file still works the pass is "GWA" but it's not really worth it except out of curiosity cos it's very unfinished and very unbalanced.TEH COLLECTORS wrote:So,any luck with the "cipher" or the 400 MB file?
I really want this game ^_^
why?
See my username.
The link for the much smaller GwangeDash final version which is one of the best PC shmups for many years has been withdrawn by the author due to xenophobia and fear of pressure from CAVE.
If you want it you'll have to find a mirror

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
People here would be unlikely to post links to this as that might contravene the forum rules, since the author holds copyright on the game and requests that it is no longer distributed.TEH COLLECTORS wrote:I tried, but i was aiming to ask if anyone here already has it,so he/she can upload it and I/we can download it.
This issue would be better discussed via PM

Also have we established yet whether it's OK to have a hi score thread or not? The author's injunction was against distributing the game, not downloading and playing it so that suggests that a hi score thread would be legit, but I don't want to get into any more trouble eh?

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
not sure if i can link but found the 1.0 version for anyone struggling to find the file, how long it stays up is anyones guess, if i cant you can PM me if you want.
if ive broken any rules which i hope i havent i do apologise
Peace

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
Clearly, I hope that us "foreigners" can play the game anyway, but still, coming back to this sad news after watching out for GuwangeDash, made me lose interest on the entire game itself. So yeah, it almost makes me want to just beg for the raw archived files, which I won't really do on here, since I'm not going to whine about this anymore.
But still, it would be nice, y'know.

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
yeah-it's one of my faves along with that Red Wasp and Solvalou.ZOM wrote:Anyone played with the Gemini Wing ship? It's loads of fun.
That's one of the great things about this game is that a lot of the ships have radically different scoring mechanics, effectively making this into lots of games in one.
No-one's even attempted a hi score table yet and it would have to incorporate separate table for each of the 20 ship types but I hope that's coming soon to generate even more enthusiasm.

Re: (PC) Gわんげdash (GuwangeDash)
Yup, I usually played with the Twin Cobra which lets the game feel like a much more forgiving form of DDP chaining, but switching to the Gemini Wing and the game feels completely different. It's a true bombfest.
Btw, you reminded me that I have yet to try the Solvalou out. Might be an interesting ship to play with. (and I like Xevious a lot).
EDIT: Just had a go at it. Survival is obviously a bit easier because of the side shields, but hell keeping the chain going is a pain in the rear!
I'm wondering if the popcorn/ground-target ratio and interval at which they appear is balanced enough to be able to chain entire stages with the Solvalou..? Can't test because of sucky skills.

The uploaded version is not the final one. 1.0st is the final version, but the one uploaded is 1.0/, which is an earlier version of the game.
