Why Does Killer 7 SUCK? ( MY STUPID RANT )

Post by ThirdStrike »

I am a huge Capcom fan I have sold my soul many a time to buy EVERY new capcom release and must say. I WANT MY $42.69 back you bastards!!!!!!!

This game is not even worth the DVD they burned it on.

I thought shitty camera angles ended with Resident Evil 4 but No capcom make it fucking confusing and retarded for me to play a game.

Wow suicide bomber fuckers who annoy you and pop up and laugh as you get annoyed as they blow up.

The only good thing about this game is the story and cut scene graphics.

Do yourself a favor and save your money for something worth it like Burnout Revenge.

Killer 7 isn't an action game. I'm not even sure it is a game. It is a surreal, interactive experience. That said, there are some gameplay elements that are 'servicable' at best. Defintely some bad areas where you leave a room, and a bomber is right text to you, giving no time for response.

All that said, I really enjoy the game--it is weird stuff for sure; but I find it addictive and it keeps pulling me back. Something pretty amazing for a time when I've got a ton of great games calling out for my attention.

DVD? Are you playing it on the PS2?

If you are, no wonder you think it's shit!

Im really enjoying it as well.

Certainly a nice creative break from the generic fps style games that are getting churned out one after another.

great game as far as i'm concerned. i wouldn't play it through a second time as it's more of a narrative and an experience than a repeatable play, but well worth the money i spent.

pretty grim parts though

I'm really willing to spend money into "interactive expertiences". I don't mind if for once a game lacks gameplay, challenge or else (because I always know where to look at when I look for them! ;-) ).

So, what I really need to shell money is... Is the story really good? I bet it's perverse, the violence, the aesthetic... but does it make any sense? Is it complicated, but eventually worthy to follow through the end (a la Sons of Liberty) or is it just a terrible mess like Xenogears?

If you all reply to my message, please keep it spoiler free thanks.

NO SPOILERS.

well the story has got an over arching story, as in you can take some complete or suggested morals from it, but i don't think it works this way completely. the plot points that interested me most were all the small commentaries on contemporary society that were revealed as the game progressed.

basically if you play it, rush through, and don't pay attention to the little things, it will be a complete waste of time. if you search everywhere, talk to everyone, really watch the story sequences and generally pay attention, ithink you'll like it.

a very symbolic and metaphorical game i feel

I'm saddened anyone on this board had a positive thing to say about this game. It is atrocious. I would've preferred this if it had been a point and click adventure instead of a 1/10th-crippled normal gameplay. And the dialogue:

Tedium. <pause> Blather blather more tedium. <pause> Tedium tedium tedium, snippet of info, etc. Harman.

Wow, thanks.

Wasn't the guy who started this thread (ThirdStrike) an affiliate of Japhei? For a moment (before seeing the date) I thought the evil one had returned.

I don't really want to offend anyone, but let's try this:

Why Does Killer 7 SUCK? ( MY STUPID RANT )

If you think you are posting a stupid rant, why do it? Do you like posting stupid things? Are you stupid?

How about starting a thread like "let's discuss Killer 7"? You can try to compose one or two readable paragraphs explaining as best you can the reasons you dislike the game, and then read everyone else's opinion on the matter. Maybe looking at the game through someone else's eyes you would be able to see things differently, and appreciate the game more.

Maybe someone else would see the game through your eyes, and would appreciate it less. Of course, to afford someone that chance you'd have to actually sit down and think for a while--ranting is not very conducive to critical thinking. Hate isn't either.

I could give you my opinion, but it wouldn't do you any good, considering your current state of mind.

Conversely, your opinion is worthless to me because, at the end of the day, you are only ranting.

Third Strike has been out (pun intended) of the forums for a while.

Why revive this thread? No offense, Rob, but post necromancy shouldn't be practiced at this forum.

I'm always baffled when using search bothers people. People should do that. It's not a random bump, I was just playing this game.

I agree w/ Rob. The game was terrible. Bad gameplay, bad dialog and nothing made much sense.

I agree that gameplay is not great. My friend played it on the hardest setting and was running back and forth for hours not knowing what to do next. After watching him and then playing it like that for a while I realized that gameplay wise, it simply wasn't rewarding at all.

So I bought the game and played through it on normal. Pretty straight forward, not much to think about and still unrewarding to play. But I still enjoyed it. Why? Because I love the presentation, plain and simple. And the story and/or dialogue may be "Bla bla bla...", but it's wierd, and hey, I like wierd.

EDIT: Oh, and the story made sense to me. I actualy had it figured out for the most part about halfway through.

I'm OK with interactive movies, but as you said the playable element is "unrewarding." The gameplay in a non-game should be as simplistic and efficient as possible... This was just awkward and annoying. They should've just made a movie or a cinematic light gun game (as I had hoped it was when it was first previewed). Navigating fully 3D environments on rails is incredibly stupid.

I only paid twenty bucks for a new copy and was a little disapointed as well. The plot was a convoluted mess which is a shame because a cool cohesive story would have really helped a game with limited gameplay like Killer 7. I did like the character design for the seven though and while cursing in a game doesn't really do a whole lot for me I really like the way Coyote utters "your fucked" after landind a kill shot. 8)

The story made sense. It was told in a fractured way, but considering the state of the protagonist's mind that was a reasonable stylistic choice. Most questions were answered by the end, though.

And I enjoyed the gameplay, though it's not something I'd want to see in another game.
