Punch-Out!!

Hey,
so what are you guys thinking about Punch-out on the wii? I searched but couldn't find a dedicated thread...

I suspect a game like that might appeal to the shmups crowd.

Thoughts on replay value? Did anyone beat every challenge in the game?

I loved it! It's very faithful to the series, and didn't have any gimmicks or cheap surprises. And I completely understand why it would appeal to the shmups crowd - there's very little deep involvement, and its easy to get in and out of a game in 15 minutes or so. A true arcade game. One of the better titles released on the Wii IMO. If you know and love the NES and SNES versions, it's definitely more of the same.

Yeah they did a very good job on that game. It reminded me of the SNES version. I didn't try any of the challenges. Beating the game was enough for me.

it was ok. it felt too much of a rehash for me to really get into. most of the strategies you remember for the nes game work on the wii version, so first loops a breeze. the second loop is pretty fun though and throws the standard strategies out the window.

if you can get it for cheap, grab it.

Yeah, it looks like they've printed a lot of units. Where I live there are plenty of them for 10€. I haven't played it but since everybody states is faithfull to the series and not a shoddy game I think that I should give it a try.

It's pretty nice and well worth the 10€.
Also pretty nice framerate IIRC, might even be 60fps.
But i could be wrong, been some time.
