First work then pleasure, paraphrased as: Squish the mushi, eat the sweets.

(not threadworthy, me thinks)

You're probably going to spend the most time on Futari, at least right off the bat, so I have to suggest opening MMP/PS next.

Try pink sweets as its quite different to the cave norm and might be something new that you really like.

I don't think Galuda II is as hard as people make it out to be.

I still haven't 1CC'd it. I make it to about stage 4 and hit game over. However it's just a fun game. The only time I ever feel like ESPII was really hard is trying to perfect the 1st stage. 1 slight slip up and the stage is shot. However once you get the extends out of the way where you have to do things right, the rest of the game is just fun, trying to do things right. Plus it gives you a lot of freedom if you don't intend to break world records as to where you want to go out of your way to score points.

I wouldn't call Futari a breeze and it is a totally awesome game but it's not as fun to learn as Galuda 2. Also, I really dislike stage 3 and 5 in Futari. 1 is beautiful, 2 is loads of scoring fun, 3 is hideous, boring, and you'll probably die a lot in the second half. 4 is one of my all time favorite shmups stages, the music, the aesthetics, it's just sweet!. 5 is too drawn out and I don't think it fits the rest of the game well. You have all these nature stages and then a kingdom.

All great games, but I'd go with Futari first, especially if you're willing to download Black Label.

If I was steveferris I would've opened Galuda II first as well.

Personally I've always liked the ESP- series quite a lot and never really took interest in Mushi Futari with its 'HARDEST VIDEO GAME BOSS EVER'. All of the ESP- games have a certain level of simplicity to it that stands out against other Cave titles in regards to both survival and scoring, whereas with Futari all I hear is people going "oh its so good totally get it wank wank wank" and that interest factor to actually *get* it just never happens with me.

Did you really just say that Espgaluda II has "a certain level of simplicity"?

Have you really been ignoring Futari this entire time because of a video of the last boss on the hardest difficulty setting, one which brings up a prompt when selected telling you that it's balls hard?

Whenever my brain starts overheating from Futari's ridiculous scoring systems, I go and play something simple instead, like ESPGaluda II Black Label.

(Go with Futari!)
