It's because chicks who wear glasses are sexy. Don't equate glasses to hearing aids! What I don't like is the "chick with an eyepatch" look I saw so often last year in Tokyo. Is it because of Ikki Tousen? I can't believe there were that many random eye injuries all at once.

Got a new one today.

In the lobby of my office we have a massive Mitsubishi HDTV flatscreen. They use this to show community events, whats going on around the office, etc. They use some awesomely large 12MP Nikon SLR to take these pictures, and then put these pics on a PC connected to the monitor which runs a continual slideshow.

The PC and the HDTV are connected by a single composite (yellow) cable.

Yeah, I hate when you type in a weird gaming title when searching in the "games" listings, and it automatically decides to substitute a similar, more common word and search in "all categories". Is there any way to disable that?

People referring to "high-tech" products like LCD TVs, computers, and cell phones as though they're still luxury items that poor people shouldn't have, especially considering that a prepaid cell phone is actually cheaper than a land line in many places now.

It annoys me a little with the amount of advertising on blu rays and DVD's. Sure sometimes you can skip them. But take Disney for example. They will put "coming soon to theaters" "coming soon to blu ray" "out now on blu ray", a 2 minute presentation of what blu ray is, show the Disney logo at least twice. It will then tell you the warnings of copyright and tell you also that some movies advertised may not be available in all territories. Then you get some java front end menu that takes about 20 seconds to load in.

In the case of Pixars "cars" even if you skip right through most of that you still lost almost 2:30. If you watch everything it takes the best part of 15 minutes or more.

Some companies like MGM like offloading some old HD print they did in 2001 for DVD and then use it on Blu ray when its obviously not good enough. Not to mention that quite a few bugs have made it onto blu ray. Out of Synch speech in Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator having a 2nd restoration required because the extended clips were better quality than the theatrical cuts. Death note on region B had disc 2 that missed every 3rd frame. It seems quality control is getting worse not better.

Sticking with the PS3, game updates take the ****ing piss. 2.6gb of data needs to be downloaded on occasions for what essentially shows up as an extra option or some shit. Even if your connection is fast it still takes an eternity considering you just want to jump in and play. Compare that to the days of the megadrive/Saturn/PS1 where you just jump in. Then people ask me why I purchase PCB's.. Its because I switch it on the and game is there already.
