The Red Thing is an independent games studio formed by a small gathering of games industry veterans situated in Liverpool, UK.

We are proud to show you iDamaged:

This is the first gameplay preview video showcasing menu, weapons and some gameplay and options in the upcoming iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch shooter iDamaged

Direct link to the youtube video if the above image isn't working: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaS0YczckjY

What do you guys think?

The game is inspired by many shoot em ups, but mainly by the Amiga classic Walker if anyone's old enough to remember:)

You have some beautiful presentation going on there. The whole look is fantastically futuristic. My only quibble would be that the player seems to be fiddling a lot, pressing buttons and adjusting things. That droid looks excellent when walking but for this short example at least it's always static while the player makes use of the UI. Maybe this sequence shows the game out of context but for me I'd rather see the droid moving on, somewhat relentlessly, destroying baddies and showing more of the lovely visuals like the backdrop.
Looks very very promising though, keep updating here with the progress.

Yes it is out of context and just a work in progress footage of what is expected showing off mainly some of the weapons, still heavily working on it, adding features etc and taking all comments to heart and try to incorporate them in the game.

There is also a level editor built in for it!:)
but this might not be available from day 1 as users unfamiliar with it can create data and scripting instructions that won't work.

Finishing up code for this, and artists busy with polishers:)

Not sure if anyone still follows this thread, but iDamaged now has a release date:

Keep an eye out for it on the Appstore after then, lots of sweat and tears went into this :D

Apple approved iDamaged last night. It will be available as a universal binary in the Appstore worldwide from next Thursday December 15th!!

It will be US$0.99 in the USA and GBP 0.69 in Great Britain.

Thinking that the game is in development since 2008 that's a pretty relieving feeling:)
