Yeah, Arrange A is what makes the disc for me.

I think Ver. 1.5 is a great game and i play strong style.

I don't get the problem with autobomb and beeing too easy, if you play it for score and trying to chain it doesn't matter because both of them (dying and autobombing) kills your chain. First loop is of course easy to clear because of the autobomb, but once you know how the chaining works its all about the score and not the very easy 1-all. The 2-all, which i still did not achieve would be total out of reach for me without the autobomb mechanic.

Maybe i am in the minority, but i have much fun with the chaining system, after training the stage 3 full-chain for a long time and finally pulling it of --> priceless feeling! (At least for me) :)

Very much this. There is no other scoring system, that has gotten me even close to the level of satisfaction I got from fully chaining that damn fifth stage for the first time in a real run. Every other DFK feels a bit watered down after that.

Originally I was not gonna purchase DFK for the 360 as I played the ipod version to death and felt I saw all I needed to see.
DFK was an impulse buy as I was initially expecting the game play to be much different from the ipod version, but was kinda let down.
I do like all the extra modes and the better controls and whathaveyou, but I could've held off.
As for the gameplay itself, I was kinda underwhelmed, though that feeling was the result of having spent the past 4 years playing DOJ. So, I guess I couldn't help but feel a little let down. DFK is still a fun ass game, but after DOJ, it feels lacking. Perhaps I just need to spend some more time with it.

If you're a DOJ fan then you owe it to yourself to buy DFK BL. It takes no prisoners, you'll love it.

I already have BFK: Black Label. Made me turn tail back to DFK: regular, LOL
I am not ready for DFK: BL just yet.

What I will say that I forgot to add in my original post was that unlike DOJ which felt like a chore when playing for score at times, DFK feels much more satisfying. I love spamming the fuck outta my hyper shot, especially on those laser beams. Nothing beats a screen full of big golden stars. And I guess that's what it is, CAVE made DFK more immediately satisfying for players who spent the last decade torturing themselves with DOJ. I just wish it would've kept some of the strictness (for lack of a better term) of DOJ (they could have left the 'bomb when you get hit' thing out, IMO).

This isn't a price discussion thread.
You had mentioned DFK kits being worthless and the 360 ports being in the bargain bins as reason to possibly believe (or at least suspect) the game is bad. I was joist pointing out that price does not always dictate quality.... I failed to mention ketsui wound up in the bargains bins REALLY fast and for really cheap as well on 360. That game is pretty freaking good and the port and arranged mode on the disc are steller also.

You get the idea ect.
If you're a DOJ fan then you owe it to yourself to buy DFK BL. It takes no prisoners, you'll love it.
I'd say if your cave fan at all you owe it to yourself to at least give it a spin. I'd say most seem to really dig it including myself. DFK BL and Futari are way up on my list of favorites. 3 difficulty settings and the auto bomb on or off option goes a long way to appealing to different skill levels without feeling nerfed at all (along with the ranking being controlled by you directly). Not to mention the scoring system is tons of fun along with a nice new soundtrack.
Yo, will you stop ragging on me!
LOL... I'm just acknowledging your campaign's momentum and the effects of time. DOJ is still in the house. But I do like giving you a hard time. If it's one thing I can say about you it's that I can totally disagree with you and let you know... without you getting your panties in a knot. If you are honest with most folks on here it means instant hate and dislike from then on out. It helps to have a sense of humor online. It's just kind of hard to read humor online sometimes also.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I didn't even realize it was a cover. I just knew it hurt my ears.

Oh why did you have to remind of Friday?? I had forgotten all about it! The video is too elaborate for it to be a joke. But when I heard the song for the first time I honestly thought that's what it was. I mean it's just so bad that it's hard to believe that anyone could take it serious enough to actually release. And as bad as the lyrics are, the singing is actually worse!

I like that song quite a bit. ...it was a last minute addition, for some reason my recording device didn't pick up the BL soundstrack that was originally playing, so I had to put something there.

That Friday song is the worst pop song ive ever come across. Only Mr blobby and that fucking crazy frog ringtone song are worse. But atleast those POS didnt try to pretend to be a serious piece of music like Friday does. Its so bad that its good in a way. The Usher rap segment and the Bob Dylan remake makes it all the more corny

Im convinced that whoever produced and marketed this song knew what they were doing and is a genius, im just not jaded enough to think that anyone could be so lame as to think what they were making is a piece of art in any way.

Since it really hurts your ears that badly I'm sure this will make you feel better.

And no, it's not another shit singing video (although I'm tempted to post 'My Jeans' as well) but the best parody dub of Friday in existence.

I was actually on the phone while playing DFK one night, and didn't even know I 1CC'd it.

Very underwhelming 1CC for me.

Now, don't get me wrong, the game is fun. I really like it - but everything SkyKid said about scoring applies to me as well.

I'm still trying to "get" the scoring - and I'm a decent player.

If I lose a chain on stage 1, I have to start over.

I'm not a good scorer at DFK at all, and it really frustrates me.

Even though I can 1CC it, there's no satisfaction there.

I was looking to trade my kit off for something else, but I think I'm gona try some more to score.

I really want to try BL.
O.K., Time for an update,

I started playing 1.5 again, and I finally got the game to click with me.

I'll admit that it took me playing DDP for hours to be like "Oh, I see!"

Now jumping back into this game. I'm having a blast - but almost sold it to fund a BL PCB.

Now BL is OK, its not bad... I just don't like it.

Would have been a mistake for me.

But I'm currently going back over Strong Mode to learn it all again, then I'm moving on to Bomb.

The autobomb isnt really a problem for me anymore.

And the game just looks better than ever.

Foot in mouth.

But all the posts I made about BL stand. I tried it on the 360 again and just could not enjoy it.

I actually want to - but just can't - but I also cant get into Blade Runner, so there :P

However, I'm personally annoyed by the way he formats his posts.

I really want to get into it. I love everything about it, aside one thing.

I always get to at least stage 5 in the game... and I just don't feel like I should. I know that the autobombs start to not help so much if you are playing for score, and loop 2 is a little nastier, but it just doesn't have that learning curve of Ketsui or DOJ (where I died on stage 1 the first time I played it, and getting to stage 3 took some 2 dayd for me)

I think the game is skewed more than the other Cave ports. Survival is easier than almost every other Cave game, and scoring is harder. I think this is why it gets so much hate.

As for the OP, way way back there, I can see why Skykid was a bit disappointed. If I had played DOJ first, and was expecting anything like that to come with the next DDP, then I might be feeling the "meh" too

When I played it in the arcade I wasn't a fan, but now that I've got the port....its actually quite fun. A rarity for me and a Cave game

I'm not saying its the port ever but...
