This guy's great!
Just gave those two games ("小怪奇" and "小怪奇 Rainbow Rabel eXtra") a whirl and they're really rather good- it's all DOJ and Ketsui inspired. The music's absolutely fantastic and the graphics are tripped out too so it's highly recommended.
Judging from the screens and the storyline in the manual, a lot of this madness is generated by the stress of the North/South Korean Conflict.
This is what would have happened if Hieronymus Bosch had made shmups

Can't get it to work "cannot read the game file". Tried with applocale too.

I fixed the "cannot read the game file" errors by removing all the asian letters from the EXE and parent folder.

But now I've come across this problem of not having music playing at all. Trying to figure it out now.

it appears the leaving both folder name and the exe only with english letters fixes it

Mine's running fine without changing anything- I've got non-unicode languages set to Japanese in regional options and have got full east asian languages pack installed (including Korean which might be significant).

This doesn't actually seem quite as bizarre as his RainbowRabelextra game.
Anyway- I can only get this crazy Dotonpachi running with the LQ.exe and the hi score doesn't seem to be saving.
Maybe you actually have to get a high score or something...

It only saves your score if you clear the game. I did a 1-ALL and got my name on the scoreboard but game overing in the second loop gave me nothing.
