I will try the demo in a bit. I still think you should put a limit on the magnet ability, maybe use it for 4 seconds every 10 seconds.
Edit: As expected it was really lacking in fun factor from lack of actually being able to shoot and enemies are pretty much unable to do anything threatening to you once you've memorized everything. Let the player shoot, put the magnet thing on a timer so it's not so overpowered and get some enemy shots near the player.
There were also a number of cheap deaths on the first boss, in addition you can hide in a corner for most of the first phase.
Style-wise the pixel art is very simplistic, that's ok, but the sprite sizes are all different (ex. the dog is way more pixelated than anything else) so it just looks wierd.
The music was pretty much the exact opposite of what I'd want in a shooter, as well. Sounds like something from a Sierra adventure game in 1990.
