There's no way in hell any of you guys are actually playing on Very Hard ranking. Give that a try and get back to me. For you MAME sucka's, after the initial copyright screen is over hold F2 for a few seconds and you should be able to change the difficulty. For the rest of us DoDonPachers you can just press the test switch on your board or cab

That's because we're playing on defaults.ResOGlas wrote:There's no way in hell any of you guys are actually playing on Very Hard ranking. Give that a try and get back to me. And that's nice that you like the straight laser, but nobody really gives a crap.

In the top 5 scores in arcadia for DDP, only two use type A - and they play on default.ResOGlas wrote:There's no way in hell any of you guys are actually playing on Very Hard ranking. I don't play on MAME, I support good companies. Anyhoo, my scores are nothing like that. I actually play on very hard, so I usually don't get too far to get a notable score, but at least I accept the challenge that Cave offers me.

You do know that you can make a video other than just a MAME *.INP file? I'd like to see a Very Hard mode replay video, just cause you were bragging about it.ResOGlas wrote:I don't play on MAME, I support good companies. Anyhoo, my scores are nothing like that. Picking up my car over my head is a great challenge, but that doesn't mean I try to do it all the time. I'd say stick with the defaults. If our "practice mode" is so easy then why don't you play through the first loop and get to the 2nd one easily and annihilate our scores?
Oh, the challenge must not be great enough for you

Wow, you guys must all really suck at shooters. I like these forums, but I didn't realize that you guys would all shit your pants if I asked if any of you actually played on something harder than what small children are actually expected to comprehend at the local arcade.
See what it's like to get annoying arrogant responses? Welcome to the internet. Hugs and Kisses.

My score isn't that good. It's not replay video quality. I just like a challenge that is offered to me. If it's in the dip menu, it's a challenge. I know it's just me (on this site at least), but playing games on the hardest setting has been a standard where I grow up with all my friends, and I've found that it gives more replay value overall...for all games.ArrogantBastard wrote:You do know that you can make a video other than just a MAME *.INP file? Okay. Great, now that it's cleared up... You're not quite as "elete" as you made yourself out to be, but I'll give you a credit for that.ResOGlas wrote:My score isn't that good. If it really matters so much to you about playing DoDonPachi on Very Hard mode, please do go ahead and set up a new thread about it with a score table designated for Very Hard mode, and quit fagging up this thread with your asinine comments when the thread clearly states that score table is set for default mode.ResOGlas wrote:So, for any of you whom play on Very Hard, what is your high score? I only have a measley 7,200,000 with a barely 400+ combo. Yep, it's not much like I said, but at least it's much better than any score someone can get on baby mode.

Haha, I like your views. You're absolutely right. At least someone here uses common sense. (Than again, how can I start a Very Hard thread if my score is so low? I might shame myself on this site more than I have)

It really doesn't matter whose score is lower or higher, it's all about a friendly competition, and if your score is so abysmally lower than you expect... It should motivate you to try a little more harder to get a better score.ResOGlas wrote:Haha, I like your views. You're absolutely right. At least someone here uses common sense. Topic split. Hi-score threads are for scores, not for talking trash. ResOGlas, don't derail a hi-score thread again.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

i tried playing a few pcb's on the hardest difficulty before, kind of thinking that "hey if i get good at it on this difficulty, i will really be great on the normal mode" but I'm not sure if it really helped or not. (didn't stick to it long enough..)
