I dig it. 7 out of 10-ish. Easy accessible. Nice to have a short-term multiplier with a low max-value for a change. I hope G.Rev have more to come on xbox now!

Is this game a regular XBLA title like Guwange, or is it an indie game which requires you to be connected to Live to access even after downloading it. I ask because I am not connected to Live at home and can't even play the indie games I've bought (shoot-1-up, Vorpal..), buy I can play Guwange. Very idiotic policy Microsoft has for that, I heard it was somehow related to indie games not being rated.

Standard XBLA game like Guwange. I hate having to be connected to Live just to play XBLI games too.

You don't have to be connected to play Live Arcade games such as Guwange and Strania.
This ridiculous thing happens only for XBLIG.

Poking around on gamefaqs, a few other people have been kicked out straight after finishing a stage, with fewer than that being able to read an error message before being kicked to the dashboard. Allegedly, it reports as a Disc Read Error.

Which of course being a downloadable game makes no damn sense.

OK, I tried to access the leaderboards 4 times today and my XBox freezed every fucking time!

Also sometimes in stage 1 it's not possible to pick up the first Laser weapon.

You'll love the true last boss^3 then.

They made it so that you don't pick weapon pickups while swinging the sword.. you need to stop slashing to pick it up. Good feature imo, you can get up close without worrying about picking up the wrong weapon.

Got the normal 1cc today, 8.45 mil. Then proceeded to play hard coop with great japanese players and fail at the last boss over and over :?

Thanks, this should be useful in a few places.

So what do you guys think are the best weapons for the bosses?

Stage 1 sword obviously.
On the stage 3 boss I use reflect and rocket.
Stage 4 laser and rocket
Stage 5 side, laser and sword
Stage 6 rocket, rocket and sword

I haven't found a good combination for the second boss though.

I've started using the sword on the second and third bosses, as well. The second one is simple enough - just watch out for his side lasers after you've taken out all of his mates. The third boss can also be attacked with it quite easily, especially if you cover both the core and one of the doorways with your swings. You'll still have to dodge bullets from the guys coming out of the other side, and manipulate the streams of pink lasers from the core away from you as best you can, but you can definitely take the boss out pretty quickly this way.

Ed: actually, I mostly use the sword on the fourth boss, too. Funny, I had no interest in using it at all yesterday...

antares wrote:So what do you guys think are the best weapons for the bosses?
Stage 1 sword
Stage 2 rocket(missile), sword, reflect
Stage 3 sword, rocket(missile), side(reflect)
Stage 4 sword, rocket(laser), side
Stage 5 sword, bomb, rocket
Stage 6 rocket2/laser[laser is better than rocket1], sword

Finally killed the tlb.. teammate shot him into the last form right before dying and I dealt the finishing blow :) can't wait until the DLC.

BTW, what's the surest way to get an S rank? I can't seem to get one in the second stage, despite my taking out 99% of the enemies quite expediently, and duffing the boss in about ten seconds. Must be more to it...

I think picking up multiple weapons in stages increases your rank in them, which is pretty weird (picking up a weapon also adds to the weapons rank, gives you invulnerability time and charges your overdose a little)

The one on hard or expert? TLB on hard was fairly easy. Everything is easy in coop. However, the 6th boss on expert is a bit maddening and unfair on some of the things he does. I have yet to take notice if he does the same bullets spreads every time. I'll have to pay closer attention to that.

I would have played with you earlier but i was playing with a friend. Don't know if you care or took notice.

I have no idea about the weapon rank but if you use a missile, rocket, side or reflect combination you will generally get s-ranks. Maybe its reflect and not side but whenever i use that combo (whichever one) i always get an S-rank.

Really enjoying this 8)

I love the fact you can enter the code in training mode to select the Under Defeat helicopter. Pointless for practice I know but it's a nice homage I think.

Which code? Ah Aprils First...

By the way, i really like the game. Can't get into stage 5 yet because of the red boss...

According to G.rev's facebook page, they're working on a patch to add 4:3 and fix some bugs.

Hmm, yeah, S-ranks definitely seem to be more forthcoming with that kind of set-up, TIF. I normally use Side and Vulcan throughout most of stage 2, so I'll try some Rocket action and see how it goes.

It'd be nice if they translated some of the Japanese text in the patch. It's cool seeing it pop up all over the place, but I don't actually know what I'm being rewarded for. :P

Like almost everyone, I'm having a great time with it! Finally got to stage 5 yesterday. My progress is being slow because I'm playing alone and only one-hour sessions at max; but the longer the game lasts, the better. ;)

I still havent figured out an easy way to kill the tlb.. almost had it on expert just now. What do you mean about the 6th boss? on expert he seems to do exactly the same attacks and bullet patterns as on hard apart from the laser turrets spawning suicide bullets (which you don't need to kill anyway)

I've noticed the two big bronzey-coloured enemies are seemingly used interchangeably. In stage 3, sometimes you'll get the one that fires two spreads of red bullets, and sometimes the one that fires purple lasers downward. Doesn't make much of a difference in terms of difficulty, but I wonder if it's performance-related...

Okay. On the 6th boss you have the grid pattern to deal with. No problem. Then he does the move where he comes in from the side. Normally on normal or hard if you go to the top and then slide down he will be at the top. This time around it doesnt matter (Unless there is another way to get him to do that) he goes into the middle and you have that narrow passage way to work with. That part I hate because i feel so constricted and i wind up panicking.

I dloaded this yesterday. I really enjoyed the camera angle manipulation it adds to the cinematic nature of the game. Also the mecha felt very senko no ronde. Unfortunately I only managed to get to stage 3 as I only had time to play 1 credit. I'll have to put some more time into it tonight. Is there any way to get free play so I can work on some techniques before attempting to 1CC it?

I have nine credits available to me at the moment (though they're switched off, natch), which would be more than enough to bully your way to the end with, but you can select any stage you've reached in the training mode, so I'd recommend using that for practicing.

I just cleared Normal using only the Rocket/Vulcan/Sword and only got them up to 2, 3, and 5-dan respectively. So for the Weapon Master achievement, I'm guessing they expect you to clear the game using only 1 weapon each time? :?
