Ketsuipachi is a simulation. Once you beat HIVAC, the pilots take off their VR helmets and talk about the simulation.

The Simulation was based on something that happened "years ago" which could have been the actual events of Ketsui. However according to the years/dates, Ketsui hasn't happened yet.

So years ago is more likely a reference to the events of Dodonpachi and Hibachi (hee vah shi). This is probably an alternate universe influenced by both Ketsui and DDP but not uniquely either one. Which means those are more than likely female versions of Ketsui pilots because they're in DDP's partial universe.

Only Lloyd is confirmed gay, get it right.

As a little tidbit for the connection of DDP and Ketsui, if you look closely at the background computer parts in the DFK stage 5 spinning laser section you'll notice some of them have the Evac-Industries logo on them. Though this is probably just a Cave in-joke.

But I think I got it right!

You have an active, confirmed homosexual paired with a submissive-looking silent emo guy whose name is Alice. And then you have a shorts-clad boy whose facial expression is most fit on a poster screaming something to the extent of "Flying a helicopter is FABULOUS", paired with a smiling brute with exposed torso. Arguably none of them are dressed like a regular military helicopter pilot would be, although Lloyd ironically looks the closest.

No problem. it just struck me as weird considering how many people on this forum actually have a working knowledge of both languages and never made the effort to translate anything (at least from what I can see) unless it had dodonpachi in the title.

Also, I think you are right that they are female counterparts. Lloyd looks really feminine, they're both wearing V-necks (usually only women wear those), I can sort of see some breasts, and everything else in the game is girly. At least Alice's name actually works here. I always hoped that it was just a misspelling of Alec or Alex, unless Alice is a manly name in Japan.

For whatever reason I see Alice or Arisu pop up in a few games; Ketsui and Namco X Capcom to name a few.
