Geist Force - a lost Dreamcast gem, coming soon

Remember this game? Well, ever heard of this game? Sega showed it in 1998's E3 and TGS, and people were impressed. Yet it was never released - probably because, as we all know, Sega is managed by retards. But I digress...

Now the good news: ASSEMblergames has obtained a copy, from a former Sega of America employee, for about $700. Keep your eyes open for leaks, fellow DC nostalgics!

Ooooooh, I'm intrigued! That snake-thingy coming out of the earth looked pretty awesome.

Wow!! That's pretty cool. Hopefully it'll be better than Prop Arena :) :) .. well, I always figured this was canned because it either wasn't good, was too buggy, or just wasn't the tech demo it was made out to be.

No. They had donations for the game specifically (twice, unfortunately).

It's apparently a turd.

But, there are 2 threads over there that two ex-Sega USA guys started. They're very informative. Highly suggest any old-school Sega fan to check them out.

How about the links (or topic titles/starter names), oh supreme leader?

I was always mad at Stolar for canning this. This was his project but he felt it wasn't moving along fast enough. *sigh*

I'm looking forward to trying this. It looked jaw-dropping back in the day.. I wonder how "complete" it is?

There's a short video from the disc on youtube. The actual game starts at three minutes in and gameplay can be seen at 7:43

I was surprised by its completeness. There's 6 stages on the disc, and at least the first one looks to be very playable.

Has it been verified to exist? I remember that was a specific question in one of the threads at Assembler, but not sure if it was answered.

It was shown in Edge Magazine back in the day. Around issue 50-80 or something like that. I've never seen it moving though. It looked rather hi-res and barren to me though. It was outsourced to an American studio if memory serves me.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

From the looks of it, that Castlevania game can stay buried for all I care.

Not outsourced, but yes, an American team -- essentially the same people who did Bottom of the 9th.

Shame that 32x game didn't get made, though. That game would have blown my mind (and given my 32x some needed playtime)
