Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I work for the retail arm of a telecommunications network here in the UK (a fancy way of saying I sell mobile phones and other stuff for O2), and the one thing that boils my piss every day is when I get an irate customer attempting to hold the store and the company responsible for the flimsy crap handset manufacturers churn out.
Does it look like I make this stuff? I wouldn't be working here if I could make mobile handsets. ;p Yeah, sure, I have to sell the stuff, but I'm smart enough to do my research before I splash out on a new phone for myself, and I expect you to do so too, at the very least. So don't expect any sympathy when a handset I had advised against you buying, for your own benefit, crashes and burns three days into your ownership, because you didn't RTFR or RTFM. Doubly so when it's a Blackberry Curve 8520.

I just bought a Samsung Rugby, My Moto Razr died after i received alot of water doing plumbing works. Before that it had survived falling in the dishwater and falling from a third story rooftop, which i find quite impressive. It also survived being dropped in a bucket of latex paint. I quickly rinsed it and dried it. It was ok but the microphone got a bit hard from it and i had to talk really lound, hehehe.Icarus wrote:I work for the retail arm of a telecommunications network here in the UK (a fancy way of saying I sell mobile phones and other stuff for O2), and the one thing that boils my piss every day is when I get an irate customer attempting to hold the store and the company responsible for the flimsy crap handset manufacturers churn out.

This. This pisses me off no end. Also people who seem to calculate the most annoying place to stop walking and look at their map or phone or whatever, like people who stand just in front of doors instead of taking a step or two to the side. I generally try and dodge them but if I'm in a bad mood or I think they really deserve it I just walk into them, especially if it's crowded and I have no other choice except to stop altogether until I can get round them.emphatic wrote:I really hate people who don't watch where they're going. Like in a mall or somewhere else with lots of people and (mostly posh girls) walk around looking at their cellphones or window shopping instead of WATCH WHERE YOU'RE FUCKING GOING. Most times I just feel like walking like this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lyu1KKwC74 but instead I just dodge these bitches like they're some shot pattern. Next time I'm in the same situation I'm just gonna stop right in front of them and ask them to watch where they're going should they crash into me.
Also people who walk slowly really piss me off, but that's not so legitimate because I walk unusually fast so from my point of view 99% of people walk annoyingly slowly. I spend half my time just walking on the edge of the road and taking my luck with the cyclists and buses.

Honestly, just weak minds that have decisions chosen for them instead of actively looking for answers.
Take the brassiere. A crazy throwback from the dark ages when broke peasants had stripped-down versions of fancy clothing to emulate the rich people. Today it's great as a pervert's fetish item and else wise somewhat harmful:
* The compression against the lymphatic vessels increases the chance to get breast cancer. Women who wear a bra all day and night have around double the chance of getting it.
* Ligaments weaken from atrophy, sag ensues.
But what is science against cultural norms? A lot of wasted oxygen in exchange for a nodded head, shrugged shoulders, rolled eyes, or angry squawking chickens.
Rubber tits piss me off a little more. The miracle science of stem cells has brought us effective fat transplant.
Oddly, there's this famous porn star guy (he's famous to me because he's a sad little nerd who plays World of Warcraft and some porno chick in a SomethingAwful interview said was "too boyfriendy" and drove her away from the industry due to her homophobia) who liked the plastic.... and since he liked trannies too, I now understand how and why a man would be into that strange kind of body mod. They love trannys!

I don't know if this is something that occurs regularly outside of the UK, but one thing that drives me nuts are young punks who play loud music on their mobile phone when in a busy public place, like a bus, train, fast food restaurant etc.
It's clearly meant to show disregard for other people because the speaker isn't good enough not to distort at high volume and the music is normally some R&B shit anyway. Point is: personal space/lack of respect for.

What really pisses me off is when skykid makes theads. Oh hey, Skykid. (:
Makeup really annoys me on females. I didn't become attracted to you because i thought your makeup made you look pretty.
I really hate when homosexuals act flamboyant. It's cool if you're gay but no need to go above and beyond.

Some people are honestly so helpless that they don't even have the decisiveness to purchase an item at the grocery store anymore without first calling up someone else on their cellphone to convince themselves that it's alright.

The soap opera lives of my co-workers. I don't care, and how do people have so little control over what happens in their lives?
That my friends prefer to communicate through texting. If I call just to say hi and chat, or call to make plans so it doesn't get dragged out over an hour of texting, people seemed to get a little flustered. It's like talking on the phone has become the scariest thing ever..
When people hear you use a word that is not in their vocabulary what so ever throw it back at you in their next statement.
That in real life I am a communicative, articulate, and intelligent person when speaking, but when I type I turn into a moron..

People who can't spell:
threw instead of through
could of instead of could've
don't know the difference between it's and its, your and you're (like Operation Wolf)
Basically, people who can't spell properly past the sixth grade. Typos are fine, but when an English-speaking native fails basic grammar and spelling in ways that could not be mere typo errors, that's irritating. That and Youtube trolls.
I totally agree about the Facebook thing texting thing. I know some people who will communicate only by texting. They text me, I call them back, and they ignore my call. My sister does that to me often, and it annoys me.
Oh yeah, and I hate it when people just won't leave me alone. Last night I took the train home. For like 40 minutes straight this crazy guy kept talking to me about pretty much nothing at all. He was a religious guy, and not in a good way. If he just wanted to talk about God's love that's cool. But he kept going on and on about people who oppose and "come against" his speaking, although he "speaks the truth" and has the "spirit of truth" in him. Apparently he believes that there is some Satanic conspiracy to silence him. I think that its just because people tell him to shut the hell up because he talks too much. At first he seemed like just a friendly guy, so I was nice to him at first. I made the mistake of saying "hi" back to him before i could get my headphones on and I got caught "talking" with him. It was a rather one-sided conversation, so I just made eye contact, nodded my head, smiled, and thought, "Oh God, I hope he isn't going to ride all the way to the end and try to bum a ride off me." IT'S A TRAP! What's worse, he had to sit on the opposite side of the train car and a few seats up, and turned around and talked loudly enough to me for the whole car to hear. I considered getting off on a stop just to catch the next train, but I just figured it wasn't worth it. I just didn't want to do anything that would be considered rude. Being rude to a crazy dude incessantly babbling about religious junk like the "end times" is not a good idea. Especially because early in his insane bantering, he talked about how he was trying to take a nap in a park and somebody's dog started sniffing his face and licking his face and woke him up, and he said how he wanted to choke the dog to death. Uh, yeah. What a looney.

To elaborate on this one (good one btw!), I can just about deal with people who can't spell - can't really blame them for it and some are cursed with dyslexia and stuff - however, I can't stand illiteracy in the commercial domain!greg wrote:People who can't spell
When people release products into the market with mis-spelt words on them, or put handwritten signs up in the windows of shops that get the most obvious words wrong.
The worst has to be on the back cover blurb of a recent Guilty Gear release. I can't remember which version of GG it was (it was a PAL copy), and it may have been on the Wii iirc.
Can't remember what the word was, but I just couldn't believe that whoever was commissioned to write it couldn't run the copy through spell check, or that quality control was so bad they let it slide. Unreal.

Here in french speaking quebec, its funny to see the fucked up translations we sometimes get on "imported from English areas" products.Skykid wrote: I can't stand illiteracy in the commercial domain!
Here i have a circuit cleaner bottle with the indication " coffre-fort sur les plastiques" which makes absolutely no sense, a coffre-fort is a place where you store gold ( A safe ) .
English side says , Safe on plastics , lol.
Also : Ideal for sport fans - Idéal pour les sports ventilateur . Ventilateur is the device that blows air.
They should stop using yahoo translator on commercial products.
