How is Senko No Ronde Duo compared to the first?
I bought Wartech: Senko No Ronde a few years back because I had read that it was a great blend of fighting game and shooter. I played a couple of games, really hyped on it, and then found that it felt very clunky to me. The movement felt sluggish and weird, it seemed like some boss attacks were instant wins, and the random just kept picking the same guy over and over again. It really did not feel likek what I was looking for in either a fighting game or shooter. I was wondering if anybody had the same experience and/or thinks that the sequel plays much better. Maybe I just didn't give it enough of a chance, but there really did not seem to be much there, and nobody wanted to play it with me because of how clunky it felt.

DUO is awesome. a step up in every way. (save I think I like the first soundtrack a little better)
Faster gameplay, more options, just everything is an improvement.
I liked the concept of the first a lot but every part of single player was just boring. 2 fixed everything.

The controls in the first game are pretty weird for sure.. you're mostly supposed to dash cancel around and moving around normally feels really slow. It's not all that hard to learn to play properly IMO, but unless you have a good vs partner you won't really have a need to.
There are some nice matches up on youtube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64dU4hcVJ2A
I think the game has a great flow to it when you get it going. Enhasa from here is probably the best western senko player I know, fighting him made me appreciate the game way more.
It's clear they put a lot more effort into the single player in DUO, since they knew they'd port the game to the 360.
afaik they dumbed down some things down in DUO? Still, a lot of improvements.. hope I can play it someday.
