Nah, she can make more. She's made dozens of afghans, and she plans to make another Samus one for us to keep, at some point. She's been wanting to sell her afghans for a long time now, but this is the first non-garden variety one she's done.

I whipped up a TFIV pattern...

I would so be interested in both of the designs, they are so godly o_O
EDIT: You should consider a Recca design.

Funny that you mention that, because I already had one done :D

Recca is a good candidate...very few colors, easy to match the yarn.

HOLY CRAPS. I call first dibs on the Recca one. ~_~
Edit: but then again, I can only imagine how stressful it may do to her if ALL of us just begged for more and more. I give lots of respect to your wife for taking the time to actually make something like the samus afghan. It would be great to do all the other things, but just make sure she doesn't get stressed out over something like this.

That would be strange...an employee paying their boss :o Think of me as her volunteer design consultant and PR guy.

Well, I'm just testing the waters at the moment. Metroid is so mainstream that it's a sure bet somebody will want the Samus afghan. With a shmup one though, I pretty much have to rely on you guys to be interested enough to buy one (and preferably fight over it a bit :D) so I'm just trying out different designs on here and seeing what kind of response there is. She crochets all the time as one of her primary hobbies, and she can't do more than about 4 Samus-sized afghans a year, so it's a fixed output no matter how many designs I come up with.

Right now, Recca is in the lead for her next project. She has some black yarn left over from Samus, and it's only 4 colors total. I'm also looking at other NES stuff, as its graphic detail (or lack thereof) is ideal for this sorta thing.

Your wife has an awesome hobby. A Ness or Vic Viper afghan would be pretty cool, and I'd buy one in a heartbeat!

So, it sold!! I'm happy for you, it's the start of a new business. Who snatched it, a fellow from this very forum?

I really admire your afghan. I unfortunately was short of cash, otherwise I'd have bid on it.

Recca is probably too niche, however... What about Trevor Belmont ? Trevor & Sypha... Man, that would be lovely.

Nope, nobody from the board (I don't think)...some lady from Ohio bought it for her son as a Christmas present. I had about a half dozen watchers, but I guess it was just too rich for the average Metroid fan's blood. Apparently her son said it was "the coolest thing he had ever seen".

Recca is definitely niche, but there seems to be interest in it, within this thread.

If anybody could provide me a nice, clean, emulated in-game screenshot of the Silvergun in PNG/GIF, without any weird filters enabled or anything, that would be great. I can't seem to find any nice screens of it on the net...they're all jizzed out with filters/compression/resizing.

The Silvergun? I thought your idea of staying on NES pixel art was great, really.
