Re: Chicagoland Winter Carnival 2011 - March 4th-6th
Live stream is over - thanks for watching! I'll post a recap of the weekend on suicide bullets but Zerst killed it on Nexzr and on Zoo Keeper. Guy is a monster.
Re: Chicagoland Winter Carnival 2011 - March 4th-6th
Thanks to evertyone for attending this weekends meet - I had a great time and as usual, everyone was super respectful of the consoles and cabs, which is awesome. Big thanks to Andi for taking charge at dinner and becomming my co-pilot.
I set a new high score for myself at Ketsui at 78 mil and change, which I feel pretty good about. Zerst tore up Nexzr 2-Mintue mode to the tune of 521,xxx and change. Super good. He also destroyeed Zoo Keeper, the midnight scoring game, with something like 3.3 million score on his first run, which kinda left everyone shaking their head. Ugh. Guy is a monster.
We live streamed the whole weekend, shoing a good chunk of the Nexzr competition, then some DDP which was nearly looped by Zerst, some PCE Bommerman multiplayer, Ketsuipachi, Aero Fighters (?), Elemental Master on the Mega Drive, and a few other titles. Got a lot of good chat going on and for something as specialized as a gaming meet, we had 8-9 people signed on the whole day. Ber even complained when I said we had to sign off! Thanks to all who watched and hung with us. Anyone watching during the dinner break got treated to a live bootleg of Sleep playing in Tallahassee in 1994.
Thanks to all who attended! I will be posting up a full write-up on Suicide Bullets when I get the chance this week with lots of pics.

Thank you, drboom, for hosting another great Chicagoland Winter Carnival. The soda and snacks were plentiful and your hospitality is always a treat! I am also stoked to find out that our tastes in music are very similar! Haven't really talked about that before!
Thank you for letting us play on all of the great consoles and cabs.
Thank you Zerst, Machine Ares 1CC, Davey, Croikle, and Andi for putting up with my mediocre skills. I may not be the best player at the meet, but I enjoy myself at every one of these meets. I get to see some of the best players in the genre, and I learn something new and helpful every time!
Save up some of that stimulus money and try to make the summer meet in Missouri!
See ya!
