Retro visuals and music, simple controls and procedural generated levels can turn this little game into something adictive, plus when it comes to challenge yourself with a score system that consists in the sum of your best score in each level.
Not sure about the randomly generated levels.

I think you meant to say 'Awesome! Randomly generated levels! Screw rigid adherence to memorisation-based gameplay and the autists who conflate familiarisation with improvement'.

That is a bitchin' trailer. The gameplay looks cool, but I'll have to play it to see if it really clicks.

How are you not banned?

Also, since this is the guy who made HydoraH (my favorite indie shmup, and possibly the best European shooter there is), I'll check out this project ASAP.

Hmm... the game doesn't work for me, there's some odd transparent layer of garbage covering everything during gameplay, and the title screen is completely obscured by random squares... any ideas how to fix this?

I get the transparent garbage as well, quite annoying. Go Gamemaker :/

Locomalito released version 1.1. Did it fix that thing for you?

Yep, everything's working perfectly now. Fun game, hope I can put some time into it soon.

I hope it has occurred to you that sometimes unpredictable events can be seen as unfair and worthy of keyboard-hurling, in a way that no amount of reflex or reactive skill can mitigate.

There's a reason no shmups feature total randomness.

This is mostly just bad timing, bump is making it seem like I'm a little bit more shrill and obsessive on this subject than I actually am - when I wrote that I wasn't serious (tone-wise), but coming off that Cave thread you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise. I do think that thread has actually tipped me closer to believing what month-ago-me said though :(

RNGMaster: Naturally.

Don't worry, I am not gonna destroy this thread whining about memorisation or anything like that. I am offline for a while anyhow and won't be able to download the game, unfortunately - thought HydoraH was awesome in all its memoriser glory.
