XRGB 3

Post by mat989 »

Is this still the best choice since it was released like years ago?! I am considering one but I thought it is better to first ask since perhaps an improved one or a better alternative exists...

thnx,

short answer: yes, still the best processor for 240p sources

long answer: it comes at a price. The unit is expensive, the 480i processing is mediocre at best and other processors paired with the SLG3000 come very close in picture quality. For some sources (e.g. a MVS) other processor are even better suited than the XRGB.

I'd add it's hands-down the best for non-scanlined 1080p scaling of 240p sources. For 480p and component processing it's sort of only half a unit; the XSelect cleans up the noisy D/A conversion. Next time, please, put these questions in the XRGB-3 thread...

That was weird, I thought the XRGB3 thread had vanished but for 4 posts :)
