Alpha Protocol is pretty great. I've only played it through once but I am itching to get back to it after clearing some backlog. The sheer number of interesting approaches and decisions is astounding.

Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
Been playing that DMC clone Darksiders. While the gameplay is ok I suppose and I am enjoying it as it makes a change to what I usually play. There are platforming elements in it which for the most part do my head in due to it been so poorly implimented, in that there is an unbelievably long time from when you press jump while walking forward to when your character actually does jump. So much that ive lost count of the number of times ive died due to pressing jump and my character walking off the edge. Completly wreaks the platforming in the game, especially as some jumps that are slightly too far away look seem within reach.
Its shit like this which makes me realise why I rarly play these hybrid 3rd person shooters / hack and slashers with platforming tacked on, due to how bad the platforming can be

Dead Space 2 (PC) and Magicka (PC).
Magicka is pretty damn funny when in a group.

DC Universe Online (PS3 version)
Pretty good effort bringing a MMO to a console, though getting through menu's fast can be a hassle sometimes.
I especially like that it's full of direct action and the character creation is quite good.
Also the playing "universe" is quite diverse and well created (flying through Gotham or Metropolis is actually fun)
Still levelling up atm, so hopefully the villains can't kick my ass that easy soon.

Have they sorted out the multiplayer stability on Magicka yet? I messed with the demo a bit and liked it, but haven't picked up the full version yet because I heard it was buggy.Icarus wrote:Dead Space 2 (PC) and Magicka (PC).

After an intense and exclusive shmupping period of 4 months, I'm playing Bayonetta.
It was an impulse buy this afternoon.
And oh boy, this game is good. I think I am in love with this dark haired, gun wielding and sexy witch....

Big patch recently fixed quite a lot of issues, and yes, multiplayer is now stable. And absolutely hilarious.Vexorg wrote:Have they sorted out the multiplayer stability on Magicka yet? I only rented Bayonetta for a weekend, but it was a pretty good game I thought. My only gripe with it was a couple of areas where they mixed the QTE's with cutscenes and I ended up dead before I knew that I had to do anything.

Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
Sonic Colors. Just got past Planet Wisp [so glad it's over, that level was disappointing, although the boss was the first remotely hard one so far] and fuck Aquarium Park's Act 4.
I watched pokecapn's Sonic Unleashed LP. The same damn thing that happened to him in Mazuri , where there's a midboss that you have NO IDEA how to dodge comes and you then proceed to drain all 20 of your lives trying to get past it, happened to me in Aquarium Park.
Also, even though Asteroid Coaster seems fun, after that experience, I gave up for the night because I was too angry to not make stupid mistakes.

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
I picked up Magicka last weekend and have been enjoying it, except for the fact that the right button on my mouse decided that now would be a really good time to bite the dust, which makes it just about impossible to play. I've got a replacement mouse on order, but it's probably not arriving for a couple more days.
Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
My cousin lended me his copy of F1 2010 so I'm playing that in the weekends, along with Marvel Pinball. During the weekdays I play a credit or two of V-Five.
Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?

also been playing the demo for Bulletstorm. Can't wait for that one to hit.

Was blasting through Omega Boost for 5 hours. This game is mentioned pretty frequently here, and for all the good reasons. ZoE 2 now seems like a cheap ripoff, especially after the terrific sand planet stage

Trying for 100% demon compendium. This will take a while, and it's compounded by the fact that I forget to save good demons and I just use them as ingredients. Derp~

I'm having another stint on Too Human, getting my Cyber Bio Engineer up to 50, grinding for reds and epics on my Cyber 'zerker, completing some of the level 3 charms that I don't have yet, increasing my kill totally so I hit top 1000 (which means top 800 or so due to glitching mother fuckers).

Phantasy Star: The End of the Millennium
With all the RPG re-releases, it sucks that Sega hasn't brought over the remakes of the first two games, and that they stopped before remaking PS3.

Sorry, I wasn't clear... I meant "brought over" as in "localized." PS2 releases are probably out of the question now, but I could see them having some success on PSP.

Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
Tenchu Z.
I'm having a lot of fun playing this, sure there's a lot of problems with the game, but if you stick to the usual Tenchu-stealth-routine you won't even notice.
Too bad it's just too piss-easy to get the highest ranks on missions.
Character creation is great too - I'm basically running around with Guwange's Shishin slitting people's throats. What more do you want from a Ninja game?

Team Fortress 2. Finally have a laptop that can run it at my monitor's native resolution without going dumbshit.

Re: What [not shmup] game are you playing now?
I feel your pain - Ouroboros is the single worst boss in the game. You'll need Luster Candy and Debilitate, as well as Phys resistance and a crapload of dis-ailment items. Get proficient with demon sources and Mitama fusion if you want to beat her.gs68 wrote:Team Fortress 2. - Agidyne plus Concentrate makes her first form easy.
- You can get a lot of Macca for fusion by selling items from hidden enemies.
- Fuse a couple Fury and Lady class demons - this is the key to the more powerful classes.
All the fusion will take a crapload of time, but thankfully most of your new demons can blow through Fornax and Grus.
