Stealth

Post by Bydo Dragon »

Has anyone seen this movie, yet? I just got back from watching it, and I found it to be very enjoyable. Yes, it has a stupid, predictable storyline and bad acting and all that...but, dude, explosions...and dogfights...and you totally get to watch a jet fighter rape a fuel tanker. That's hard core, man.

Didn't somebody try to claim they owned a trademark to the word "stealth" and went and sued a bunch of people?

Yeah, I went and saw it earlier today. Definitely cool points get awarded for the fighter designs as well as the aerial combat. :)

Oh yea, because Macross Plus was original as well.

Stealth looks like it'll be worth watching just for the aerial combat scenes. Haven't seen a good dogfight in a while :(

That'd be lame, if they did. It's like trying to trademark "Apple"--it's too general to be a valid trademark, which is why there's Apple Computer and Apple Records, among other things.

Also, why bother?

Because suing is the new national pastime in this country.

I'd still like to see this movie, but I'm bit worried about the whole "artificial intelligence gains self-awareness thing" turning the movie into Terminator 2 with spiffy jets and dogfights.

Also, from the previews I've seen of this film, it looks like there's at least one dumb-ass, pointless sex scene-like the one near the end of Die Hard 3.

I can't believe adults had anything to do with the making of this so-called movie.

It is an abomination!

And a shameless plug for the stuff I'm selling on eBay, if you're into that sort of thing.

Hrm...I don't think the movie is serious enough to come close to being a T2 with wings. And there were no sex scenes.

Heh, bad example -- Apple Records actually settled a lawsuit with Apple Computer way back in 1978 to allow them to use the name, given the fact that Apple Computer wasn't involved in the music business. Now that they are, Apple Records has sued them again (as they did in the mid-80s when Apple added MIDI capabilities to their machines), and they're still in litigation.

Wow, that's craptastic. :? I guess they have to do SOMETHING with their legal departments!

^^^

Stealth bears an resemblance to the book Goliath by Steve Alten, except in the book it is a stealth submarine that looks like a giant devil ray. It also gains self awareness after getting hit by lightling, and plans to nuke the world(humans are a disease, etc.) A fun read.

Finally saw it today. Funny how they interlaced the action scenes with totally pointless parts, especially the whole Thailand thing.

Right at the intro a smile slowly blossomed on my face as the AAA were filling the sky, and the planes were zooming back and forth.

Overall I enjoyed it just because the action sequences kicked ass.
