Cavefest

Post by originalz »

It's happening in a few hours! Only site I know that's covering it is andriasang but they're usually pretty reliable. I'll also be there, although no point in giving updates since I'm sure the pros will be fast enough.

All I want is a port of Ibara Kuro, but what do you guys think will be announced? Dangun is probably a lock, maybe Akai Katana?

Thanks for the link. I'm expecting them to announce Akai Katana (360), Ibara (360, Kuro DLC to follow), and an iPhone port of something, probably DeathSmiles or Ketsui.
So, are we expected to turn our TV on its side?!

Let's just hope they don't screw up the arcade mode like they did in DS2.

The game is actually pretty good, don't judge it on Youtube videos.

I doubt red katana will be region free, my hunch is due to it been a hori theyll push for it been localised.
That sidescroller ninja game sounds promising, 50 stages is alot, I wonder if theyll make it in a simlar format to super meat boy but with added combat and a highscore system??
The 3rd game been anounced as an adventure game could be anything really, as the adventure genre is a very vague genre atleast in the western sense. Or does adventure have a more defiined definition in Japan?

Intresting times, and its good to see Cave doing so well ("Cave's stock has risen 326 or so percent")

Although tbh im more intrested in weather DFK will get picked up by Red Star Games or someother european publisher. Still that isnt really Caves problem...

Munetatsu announced Instant Brain for 360. Voice actresses will be Rie Kugimiya, Sawashiro, Noto, and Chiaki Takahashi!

Akio Ootsuka (Solid Snake) and Kenyu Horiuchi. Sound director is Ryu Umemoto.

And this is probably the only post I'll ever make concerning this

Grrrrr. andriasang watermarking friggin PR pictures from CAVE... it s not as if they captured that themselved ><

aaaanyway

a bit of a bummer that we didn't get any new arcade shmup.

I half expected the absence of a mushihimesama + ibara/ibara kuro port pack (which would make sense to me <3), i guess Cave wait for the sales results of MMP+PS pack to see how non-HD ports can perform on the xbox shmupixty
st5ex0boss/st5ex0boss.cpp, st5ex0boss/st5ex0b_appear.cpp, st5ex0boss/st5ex0b_disp.cpp, st5ex0boss/st5ex0b_move.cpp, st5ex0boss/st5ex0b_anime.cpp, st5ex0boss/st5ex0b_check.cpp

And there shall be TTLB... <3 Muwohohoho

Wow! I just got home from this, and the thread is already so long! Anyhow, things I didnt see mentioned in the above:

Some RC racing game for mobile platforms called Mini __ Victory Road (not sure what the kanji was in the blank space) and there will also be a port of Hokuto no Ken. Also a new ninja-based platformer for XBOX called Nin-Nin jump. I got to play a bit of Akai Katana shin and made it to level 3 in my 5 minute allotted time frame. Nothing seemed changed other than it's now 16x9 and the graphics look really hi-res. I got to meet Originalz there (who is a really nice guy and an extremely gifted writer to boot) Got a few free matsuri items, as well as a few purchased exclusives. Also was one of the surprisingly few people to apply for a job with CAVE. Talked to another American guy who works for them, and he was really nice encouraged me to fill out an application.

But here are some pics for now:

Photos of some of the loot I picked up today:

I'll be throwing in some of these knick-knacks for free with any orders I fill in the near future.

Information about applying for a job at CAVE:

Exclusive holographic covered Ketsu-pachi CD...?

A plant. Inside an egg. From CAVE. :?: A thank-you gift for the job application.

Good meeting you Rancor! We'll have to get together again sometime before you head back to the States.

I tried out the Deathsmiles port. Seemed like a huge pain to play since enemies come from all sides and my hand kept obscuring shit. Seems like the same quality as their other iOS ports so far otherwise.

Inside the bonus bag you got for playing their stuff was a SMT Imagine name card holder, a Shirotsuku hand towel, an Akai Katana toothbrush, and an Akai Katana steel mug.

Something unique about this event was that it was held in an open-air environment, probably good for attracting attention, but it was pretty cold today!

I think this may be the once-in-a-lifetime event I'll want to go to but never will.

And damn that Ketsuipachi album looks awesome. Nice score on the freebies rancor. :D
