Video games with love stories
Valentine's Day came and went, so let's discuss the games with well fleshed-out love (sub)plots!
Off the top of my mind:
- Final Fantasy 8
- Ninja Gaiden (NES era)
- Cobra Mission (this is H-game, but final sex scene does try being romantic)
- Every goddamn BioWare game except of Shattered Steel and MDK2

In an alternate universal, Soldier Blade II has already been crafted by Hudson Soft and Compile with proper tate this time around (c) PC Engine Fan X!
Sega tried and failed. Nintendo didn't even try. (c) Specineff

Lunar Silver Star and Lunar Eternal Blue.
I could say FF8, but Squall deserves to be slapped in the face with a trout.

Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Final Fantasy 8 was the first thing that came to my mind too.
Anyone do anything interesting for Valentines day incidentally? Or did everyone do the restaurant thing (like me.)
I had the richest Carbonara pasta ever. Couldn't finish it.
Then we watched some rubbish on TV.
It wasn't that exciting actually. Except the missus got dressed up nice, she looked hot. That was good.
Christ I'm bored.
Back OT: There was always sexual tension between Link and Zelda. You could tell, it was in the air.

Re: Video games with love stories
I always thought the romance plot in FF8 felt forced and unnatural. FF9 and 10 handled it better. Bioware' romance sub-plots usually work well, though by their nature they don't impact on the main flow of the story. And then there's Harvest Moon, where you can bribe any girl into marrying you by giving her the right presents every day. That's probably the most convincing
Seriously though, as far as having the romance aspect well integrated into the overall story, I'd say either FF9 or Lunar handled it best.

Sakura Taisen! Ohgami even kisses her at the end of the game. How nice.
