Zavvi still advise Feb 11th and have it listed as No.8 in their pre-order chart, with Deathsmiles listed as No.2. Odd.
Zavvi have now changed it to 25th March also.

What do you think the date will be changed to when it doesn't come out in March then? which is almost certain to happen.

Towards the end of the year at the earliest, if ever.

Seems about as likely as any of the other dates getting thrown around.

This is a bit OT, but I have a Japanese 360 and I wondered is it worth me picking up a Japanese copy of this, bearing in mind that my 360 isn't connected to the net and that I wouldn't be able to d/l any patches? It's just that I'm sure I remember reading someone say that it wwas buggy on release, hopefully that's not the case too badly.

You can download the patch from the internet and put in your harddisc anyway. So, yes of course it's worth getting this. RFA is really one of the best shoot'em up releases for the 360.

Here's the update: http://xbuc.net/?download&id=433

The update (the 4th update actually) improves drastically on the graphics options. The scaling is much better and you get a very nice scanline emulation.

To get the update on your harddisc you have to connect it to a PC. You can do this by removing the case of the HDD or by using a 360 transfer kit.

I've never pre-ordered a game before, but thought it would be a good way of showing my support for these games. Then I stumbled across this thread. Oh well, hopefully if enough of us don't cancel our pre-orders in frustration, a kind  publisher will take pity on us impoverished PAL shmup fan bwoys.

March 25th is a placeholder as was every other date that came before. It's not coming out under the JoWood label.

Sadly the only way this will be released is if someone is able to pick it up after they go bust and their assets are sold off on the cheap. They are going to go under, maybe not as such because their assets will be transfered; but until that happens the rights to this title will be trapped in legal limbo.

I don't wish the people who work for them any ill-will. If people are put out of work by this company changing hands then that is sad; but I want the game released... or the rights to publish it "released".

Brillant idea! I can just imagine Duke Nukem being the pilot of the Raiden MK-II and making some sexual joke about the laser whip beam.

Duke Nukem is coming out on 6th May according to Amazon UK. Raiden has been sat there on pre-order for more months than I care to remember, and it's still not got a firm release date. This is just silly now; I really wish Rising Star had picked up the right to this. Infact, at this rate RSG will have Akai Katana Shin and Deathsmiles IIX sat on Gamestation's shelves before we get Raiden.

"Never say never"

Yes of course but I didn't say "Never for the release" in my last message, I just said "Forget it for the 25th of March" 8)

I stay confident about the release...one day...

It's funny because it's actually the truth, literally!
Just as the Duke Nukem Forever joke was finally starting to get old (after just 15 years), Gearbox one-ups it by actually releasing the game, making room for a whole new slew of jokes.

I've just registered a U.S Live account. Will I be able to use a UK credit card to buy RFA for $19.99 from the US Marketplace?

Probably not... It may not even matter which card you use.

The main reason is I presume you live in a pal territory and I believe marketplace options/currency/etc are restricted by your ip address - it can tell what region your logging in from. If its like the jap one you'll be able to browse the store, but when you try to purchase it will say not available in your region.

You can get round this by logging in via a vpn to fake that you're in the US... but its a lot of effort to go through for a $20 game :)

I know someone who was unable to buy the Japanese ondemand-version on Japanese Live, with a Japanese account, USING A JAPANESE CONSOLE.
As far as I recall, he was able to pay for it and download it, but it refuses to run because it was downloaded in Europe, apparently. I find it shocking that they are even able to do that.

But if buying the US version works for you, please let me know ASAP :P

You mean a "really great game that's apparently never going to be available in this region otherwise"
The price of the game is not important here.

I downloaded Aegis Wing and was able to play it with my own UK Gamertag. I imagine(hope) RFA will be the same.

Is that game still available? And did you need US points?
