Indeed, it does look quite good. There was a link about this here before though. Hitogata Happa is the name of the game.

Hitogata is a puppet
Happa means leaf.

The graphic is awesometastic

The main character is so cute

I have a soft spot for cute-em-ups, as long as they delivers solid gameplay.

I can't read Jpnese so I don't understand a thing on that page, but the screenshot makes my day.
This causes to me a sensation of badness. - Stormwatch

Although Endoma was a little iffy (it was about as good as a manic isometric could be, I suppose...), Gundemonium and Gundeadglineblkah or however you spell it ( ) were both excellent. I'll pick this one up too.

Seems like it could be quite good - one thing though, in demo you can see the player clearly use some kind of charged up bomb on the bosses arms - how the hell do you do that? Looks like it's essential to gameplay as you can't destroy them before the boss rage meter runs out, and then you're utterly screwed.

PS: ya, i know i need a better card ... but since my no difunct GF4, has gone to better life just a month ago, i will take my time to get a new n better VGA ...

One of the guys on IRC has the same problem - he got it to run further in windowed mode but it still crashed. I managed to run it fine on a Dell laptop with crappy Intel Extreme graphics. I'd wonder if it's more to do with directx version.

Has anybody figured out how to run the game at lower resolutions? It slows down major for me when I shoot.

Took me a few tries, but I got it to work...in some ways it's every Cave game I've ever played, heh. Holding down the fire button to slow you down...a takeoff of "Kakusei" mode from Galuda...bullet canceling a la Progear...

It looks great, but somehow I think there's probably an element or two of the gameplay missing from the demo...I get the impression that you can switch between characters in the full version, but this only gives you the one green-haired gal. I also haven't yet figured out how the bombing thing works, I did once see a bomb icon with an "OK" appear by my char, but I'm not sure how I did it...

After you die you can change the character but you have to beat stage 0 first. Then you can buy 4 different characters as often as your money it allows.

For the bombing you have to have full Flow meter(upper right of the screen)
then make suicide and ram an enemy so you release the bomb.
When you run out of time at an endboss you will be game over regardless how much lives you have left.

well, i managed to get the demo to run, i just had to restart my PC, since the VGA drivers were actin up, and didnt allow me to play this nor any other game...

now, this game FUKIN ROX!.. its very tactical and freakin fun.

the demo gives you the chance to play with 4 chars (in Mission 0, u have only one char, but if succeed on completin that mission, then u are given teh option to buy the other chars for use in the next Mission )... u have to earn "money" to buy more chars... so, u better gather lots of "money" so ur chances of survivin the next mission are higher-

the demo its only 2 levels ... but it gives you a pretty good taste of what u can spect from the full game (i cant wait for it!!!)... lets see:

1) u have to commit suicide (Bomb attack) if you wanna defeat the bosses... this adds lots of tactical stuff to this game, since u have to plan pretty good which doll u wanna waste (yeah, thats right... WASTE)
2) entering the "Danger Zone" (gettin pretty close to the enemies) and killin the ememies will give you HELLA more points... and, the more enemy bullets u have in the "danger zone" while killin that foe, the more points u get.
3) to defeat the bosses, uu have to detect what parts of the boss u have to defeat 1st ... since if you dont do it this way, you wont stand a chance (teh boss will enter into a "berserk" mode, and if you die once, game its over... it doesnt matter how many lifes you ahve)
4) buy every single kinda doll u can, since that adds more for the strategy ... ones are better for certain tasks than others... and you can swap them when u lose one of'em.

now ... bullet patterns are pretty much like in Royal Edoma Engine.... but pretty much ellaborated.... AND BEAUTIFULL!!... fuck!... i love this game!.

i dont know, but i kinda feel, this one its gonna be the best Murasame's game EVER (on top of the pretty darn good Gundeadlignè).

cant wait for the full version.

Tried it again with the new info in mind, and this thing is even weirder of a hybrid than I thought...aside from the Cave stuff I mentioned and the fact that you "buy" extra lives in between stages, there's also a bit of Raizing-esque suiciding going on! Despite how many games this takes ideas from, methinks it's still one of a kind...once the import shops start carrying this I may just have to snag myself a copy.

Wow, this one is quite different.......I couldn't beat the boss until you mentioned the suicide bombs.........however once you can buy other dolls, it gets easier to play.

I really like this game, both the graphical style and the play system. It's something original, and I too can't wait until the full version comes out. Highly recommended.

Yo, the girl with the pigtails has invincibility as her mana action. To use it just wiggle the directions left/right (VII Stag lol). She doesn't seem to suck as much now.

Wow, this looks excellent. :) Besides the epic bullet clouds, the visuals have sort of a Twinbee and TSS meets Mahou feel to 'em.

I've got a version of the game that's around 70mb... is that the full version? o_O

And how is the game running for you guys? I could only have it run at around 35 FPS despite on low settings (16 bit).

Full version does weigh in at about 75 megs.........biggest tipoff is that there are 8 dolls selectable in the full version, and only 4 in the demo (if I remember correctly.........)

The box for this game is also really cool, the slipcover has a hole cut into it so you can see the CD cover art, which is a face from one of the dolls........great job on this game!

yes, the full game has 8 dolls and the demo comes with 4 doll only, and yes, i agree that the art for the box its pretty good.... like i said, for me, this is the BEST murasame's game EVER!...

havent played it much, since my VGA its actin up, and have not enough time lately .... but, im dyin to play this one on a 21" monitor in TATE mode ... (just played it in tate mode in a 19" CRT, and DROOLED like a fool!).

very recommended game.

Any links to a shop that has the full version available and ships to the US?

Hmm, never mind me, I've got the game to run at 60fps already (ZOMFG the game's insanely fast at 60fps! o_O)

Anyone happened to know of other doujin shmups like this happa thingy game, particulary if it's around the same size? I'm sick of doujin shmups that are 500+ mb in size, like that imperishible night game.

edit: and while we're at it, how do I defeat the boss in stage 0? I've managed to blow off its two arms already, and it starts shooting continuous waves of fast/slow bullets... and I can't seem to deal enough damage to it before it went berserk. Am I supposed to weave through whatever space there is between the bullets, and bomb the boss?

Also, how do I take screenshots (if possible, at all?)

Yeah, but one has to ask the question of WHY practically every doujin shmup that has come out lately rips off Cave gameplay?? Can't the individuals who make these games come up with something even remotely original?? :?

you beat me at it ...
but, if you ask me, i really DONT MIND, if they're copying CAVE's bullet patterns or shit ... since, all im looking 4, its a game with lots of bullets, a great replayability factor, lovely graphics and the principal requirement: CODED FOR THE PC (i dont own a PCB, and dont play MAME that often), so, Doujin STGs are my best choice, and im pretty darn happy with them as they are right now ... theres pretty much variety there, that sometimes i just cant decide myself wich one to play...

if they come up with some fresh ideas anytime, i'll be glad to face'em and enjoy them (if they are anygood anyway).... if they keep up the way they are right now, ill bbe happy too, since, again, all im looking for its a great STG for PC (in western lands, those games are rare... so, Doujins are my only hope hehehe).

**off to play Zen Ichi**
