I deliberately tried to run an inp that didn't exist and got that 4417 error. Are the inps in the 'inp' folder?third_strike wrote:Yes I get a an error message in the window.

Yes it is in inp folder.
The problem only happen when I put a name in inp, I guess.
Strange!

Solved, thanks!
Re: Espgaluda in Mame
What's the minimum specs for running these recent Cave games? Is anyone having speed issues at all, sudden speed ups, heavy slowdown? I haven't seen anyone mention specific Mhz required, RAM etc. Can anyone say they are running DOJ, Ketsui or Espgaluda at PCB speeds? Espgaluda is running as my PS2 does, but DOJ is up and down, Ketsui too but not as much.

Re: Espgaluda in Mame
I cant give you specifics but MAME version definitely helps or worsens the performance (obviously due to emulation improvements over time). On my legacy machine one of the pre-official MAME builds with PGM support ran ESPGaluda with autoframeskip on rather well but Ketsui and DOJ weren't so good. Stuff like Shmupmame v3 are impossible for me to play any of those games.gavin19 wrote:What's the minimum specs for running these recent Cave games? My main internet Mac however has no problems, and that's a dual-core 2.8 Ghz with 2 GB RAM and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics. 3-4 years old now.

Well , not sure if it will be of any idea , but anyway.gavin19 wrote:What's the minimum specs for running these recent Cave games? On my laptop of P4 1.8 Ghz with 512 mb ram and 64 mb gfx card , I can play all 3 pgm games with almost no slowdown , if I run shmupmame 3.0
but those games run very slow almost unplayable with awful sound , if I run shmupmame 3.0b... Even if I have exactly same settings...
Someone in other forum said that anything 2d that mame supports will even run on a toaster I remembered now....

Re: Espgaluda in Mame
Thanks for the input. i have tried several versions, Mame64, MameUI64, Shmupmame 2.2-3.0b but they all present slowdown in DOJ. I have tried launching Mame64 just from the commandline with various switches like -mt and -numprocessors but it still only uses one core. I think it's my daft triple core CPU that's the problem to be honest. I still thought that even with one core at 3Ghz it would cope ok, apparently not.
EDIT : For whatever reason Wolfmame only uses 15-20% CPU versus the 33% of the other variants, and has no slowdown, (BTW the 33% is 1 core at full power (triple-core CPU)). No matter what I do I cannot force Mame to use more than one core. Multithreading, yes, but that doesn't seem to make much difference.

Re: Espgaluda in Mame
Upscaling in PGM games was missing in 3.0 and added in 3.0b of Shmupmame. That might've been it.Clessx wrote:Well , not sure if it will be of any idea , but anyway.gavin19 wrote:What's the minimum specs for running these recent Cave games? dont know... maybe emulation dramatically improved between 3.0 and 3.0b and my config cant handle that...even ran silk smooth until recently...

Re: Espgaluda in Mame
Probably that...have read that more accurate emulation needs more processing power. It seems I"ll have to stick with 3.0BPzeBanshee wrote: Upscaling in PGM games was missing in 3.0 and added in 3.0b of Shmupmame. That might've been it.

what is upscaling btw ?

Easiest way to put it - look at the scoring bars in Ketsui.Clessx wrote:Probably that...have read that more accurate emulation needs more processing power. This is how it was in Shmupmame 3.0. You can see that you can't completely see everything there with the boxes. Normally those ones at the back are increased in size by twofold.
That is upscaling, by my definition anyway. It's fixed in 3.0b of Shmupmame though I believe savestates in DOJ are still a problem.
Or just get the latest MAMEUI and put up with the worse music.

hey seriously did they fix the sound yet
Re: Espgaluda in Mame
hi everyone, i ended up here after alot of googling and asking for help on many forums to no avail.
i wanted to play some schumps, more specificly this game.
so i downloaded the newest mame plus 0.143 and the full 0.139 set which is 24gb along with the incremental updates from 139 to 0.143.
I dont know how to check those full sets or updates with rommanagers, neither do i know how to merge them, but it used to work that you can add every folder with roms individually in mame and mame would figure out the parent roms and the updated ones etc....
I tried to start Espgaluda in mame, i got an error that i was missing 2 roms within the set, i opened the zip file and noticed there are only 6 roms in it ( the ones listed in the very firts post ). I googled for the seperat rom and was able to find both the one i have, and one with the 2 missing roms.
Now i am not sure how this could have happened, was this a bad dump? was this an experimental set that came with a "u" beta set and then the person who uploaded the "full 0.140 to 141" set basicly put all the "u" sets together himself instead of uploading the official 0.140 to 0.141 from scratch?
I guess i kinda answered it myself, but the update is 1.4gb and i cant download the update again and again till i find the right one, but is my update not correct?
also i would like to find someone who is good at CLRMAMEpro if possible , to scan the full set and all the updates i have for anything that is missing, and then merging the sets into one big one.
many thanks , i hope you guys can help me out.
