Scouting is great when it works. I had one match where by some miracle I got a medium tank and a TD to follow me. I hid behind a house, marked the enemies, and they were promptly destroyed by them. Fucking awesome.
But out of 50 or so battles it was the only time I've ever seen scouting actually doing anything. And as you said, it's the only thing one can do with a light tank. Yeah, sure, you get points for spotting even if everyone ignores it, but that's just busywork, not fun. I might continue playing artillery, but playing as a light tank sucks.

Almost signed up for this a few times based on the coverage at RPS. Looks like a lot of fun...but I'm usually not the MMO type (recently confirmed this with a gamble on Global Agenda. WHYY).

Now if someone's up for Dawn of War 2 or Starcraft 2, just let me know. ;)

The game will be going out of beta today. All accounts will be reset so it's a good time to start before overpopulation of high tiers ruins the balance again.
If you want some tricks to reduce the beginner frustration (as you can see from my earlier posts I went through it :) ), just ask.

Shortly after I posted up there, I signed up. Probably the most fun I've had in an MMO. I'll be sad to see all my Russian arties flushed, but hey, even playing field now.

I'm squareking if anyone wants to add/pwn me.

I finally decided to download world of tanks last night. It's a whole lot of fun but the light tanks are crap... without upgrades they only manage a meagre 15mph at most ( shouldnt a tank designed for scouting reach at LEAST 30???) or an amazing 6 mph uphill and the gun wont do shit to anything but another light tank.

After a few hours of getting nowhere fast with these pieces of junk i finally crumbled and bought myself the churchill which is a lot more fun, the gun isnt great but at least the armour on it is thick enough for me to actually spend some time trying out a few different tactics and since buying it i've earned enough credits and experience to start skilling into russian Tank Destroyers.

It'd be nice if we could get a clan going, this game is clearly designed for group tactics and in random battles people just do what they feel like.

I'm on the EU Server and in game name is Leaderbee.
The universe is neither hostile nor friendly, simply indifferent.

Even without my umbillical cable attached I still have over 12,000 plates of fortified armour AND I have my AT Field! There's NO WAY I can lose!!

I'm also on Russian TD line, but i'm still at AT-1 and I'll be there for a while since I only play about 2-3 battles a day (not to mention MM consistently puts me in a shittiest battles imaginable, with me as the only T2 against T4's).

EU server, name 2ndworstplayer.
