I know there is an XRGB FAQ but I am on my phone now and cant view it. I located an XRGB3 at a local shop here in Japan for roughly 180 dollars used. The thing is in perfect condition but is missing 2 things, the cd and the D to Component adapater. Do I need this adapter or CD? I assume I can download all that is on the CD online and if I need this adapter, I am assuming I can buy it on Ebay or the like for 10 to 20 dollars, correct?
I plan to use my megadrive and snes with the converter. Please let me know, thanks!

You don't the CD and you don't need the adapter. Not for RGB systems (like Genesis or SNES) anyway. The adapter is used to connect a component (YUV) signal to one of the D-Terminal's inputs.
For $180, I'd grab it for sure.
