Super cheap Gefen VGA to DVI scaler on E-bay UK

The seller had two, I just snaffled one, once it comes I'll do a head to head XRGB3->DVDO Edge vs XRGB3->Gefen on my site.

grabbed the second one. I basically just want to see if a small bug from the first (blue) edition has been fixed in this one. Will very likely be for sale again once I get it (at cost of course). PM me if interested.

I've noticed the DVDO Edge sometimes isn't as tolerant to the XRGB3's output as I'd like, for example during intro movie playback on some Saturn games and of course my PC Engine, sometimes the Edge will go "unsupported signal" for a moment. Usually once the game starts it's fine, but being a perfectionist I'm curious to see if the Gefen does a better job, I'll let everyone know

on my TV I wouldn't get a picture with 1080p output. I had to reset the Gefen and then manually switch to 1080p again.

Mine turned up today, first thoughts - Scaling seems sharp, Megadrive's output reminded me of the old VGA DOS games and how the pixels were so pronounced on those.

Compatibility wise, exactly the same as the Edge, still struggles when thrown a curve ball like my PC Engine via the XRGB3 or a PAL console set to 60hz.

There's no remote included in the auction, anyone know where I can download IR codes for my Pronto?

So far I think I prefer it for older 3D games, but not sure on 2D games. I need to get a DVI to HDMI cable and take some comparison shots. Right now I can't have the Edge hooked up at the same time.

For what I paid though, its an excellent bit of kit and ideal for anyone wanting XRGB3 compatibility on a newer TV.

I have the originals still on my memory card, they look kinda poor though.
