Thanks GaijinPunch for a bundle of Falcom PC softwares!

Ys I.II Complete, Ys The Oath in Felghana 1st print Ltd, Ys VI The Ark of Napishtim 1st print Ltd. w/ Mail Order Special Package, Ys Origin, Xanadu Next.

I might want to eventually get the standard edition of Ys VI though for the in-game extras however.

Nice! I have all those editions, save the Ys VI :D That stuff is so awesome and so cheap these days, there's no reason for an Ys fan not to own them all (I think all mine ran me under $100 total).

What's the deal w/ the Ys VI mail order edition?

I knew you would like it :)
Mine surpassed $200 with fees and shipping :| The unshipped prices were really damn cheap though, I think all of them save for YsI.IIC were under $25 each and just ridiculous value for what you get in the package. Like an 8-CD Ys III soundtrack, WTH!

I'm muddled up with all the editions of Ys VI. I think people who pre-ordered direct from Falcom got this Special Package which has a calendar and another audio CD "Ys Special Collection Memorial Sounds".
I'm pretty sure I got all the bits that the paper strip on the outside of the box says I should have (PC-88/SFC emulated games + video DVD), but I read elsewhere that other editions of Ys VI got a soundtrack (which I don't have)?

Ughhh, I want all of those badly! How much did you get Felghana and Ark for, if you don't mind me asking?

I went through GP's Yahoo Japan Auctions service, so there were some commission and double shipping costs involved, which came to a significant sum since these boxes are pretty big. IMO still a fair price considering the size and weight. Ark ended at JPY 2500 with no other bidders, and Oath ended at JPY 2000 again with no other bidders. No sweat.

I'm intrigued by the display there. Are you at work in that shot, or do you have some obscene setup at home (aka single)?

From the looks of the ceiling, I'm guessing not a home. Regardless, that's a sweet, mobile NAOMI rig and a pimp gaming session!

I got most of falcom's Windows games(Brandish 4, Eiyuu Densetsu reprints, Ys Eternal, Ys I & II Complete LE, X-Next, Dinosaur Resurrection, Ys VI, Zwei!!, YsF, YsO, etc) at release through direct mail-order and believe me, summing it up, it set me back by a lot. -__- (not that I regret it, though)
Nowadays, looking at YAJ prices, they're unbelieveably great deals. Even with 3rd party comission.

It's a shame that softbank partnership is no more. Falcom's PC boxes were always something special for me... including the ones from the PC-98 days. It's terrible where we're destined to go with game-packaging these days - everything just looks rushed and cost-effective, if there is packaging at all (I'm looking at you, fucking digital distribution. fuck that shit it let's my blood boil just thinking about it). Gone are the days where you found whole Piano-scores for Ys game-themes in the game's manual.

The shipping on these is brutal now w/ the yen where it is. The items themselves...mere sheckles. :?

The projector is at my work. They're totally cool about us taking over the lounge outside of when training or conferences are going on. Being a web hosting company (i.e. a bunch of geeks) there are several folks there to game with.

My girlfriend tolerates my game collection pretty well, but she was a bit pissed when I pretty much locked myself in my room for a few days to wire up the NAOMI and build/wire the sticks.

Believe it or not, Japanese Toys-R-Us stores were selling brand new copies of the rare PSX game, Treasure's Rakugaki Showtime, for a mere 3,000 yen back in early 2000. Quite a steal at that asking price indeed.

I was originally going to get this thing set up with RGB, but I have no idea what I'm doing and cannot get the image to sync. I went with the svideo inputs instead and I'm happy enough with the picture quality now. :) I'm moving out in a month so maybe I'll get set up then.
