Archiving of M-Kai's shmups

Post by Neko »

Quite some time back, M-Kai released 3 of his MSX shmups as freeware: Kyokugen, Pleasure Hearts and Anaconda. They could be found in this site:

http://www.geocities.co.jp/SiliconValle ... /index.htm

But after Geocities shut down, they couldn't be gotten of from the site anymore. Anyone managed to archive those games so that everyone can try out these rare gems?

Here's a mirror for Kyokugen: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zjnu2zegknn

Older thread is here: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=24517

Sorry for the huge necrobump, but both Mediafire links here are dead. Anyone willing to reupload them?

It would be nice if M-Kai could put them up as extras on the Eschatos site or something.

Well since this was bumped, I'll also take the opportunity to ask if anyone has gotten M-Kai's Cardinal Sins wonderwitch game to work with MiracleMage emulator? Is there a WW bios or something required?, I just get a vertical bar in the middle of the screen and thats it.

1. You need a specific file for MiracleMage to actually display what should be there in that vertical bar. (Also, that message was programmed in with horizontal aspect in mind.)
2. The message that should be there basically says "This game will not work on (original) WonderSwan", and unfortunately that is what MiracleMage is (there is no Color support).

Well I have the correct .fx file, you can freely download it off M-Kai's website. Is there another emulator that will play Cardinal Sins?

WSCamp is the only other Wonderswan emulator I know of, and it plays color games so I'd assume that would work on it.

Although WSCamp is a great (color) Wonderswan emulator, it unfortunately cannot play WonderWitch games like Cardinal Sins.
