Keio converter SAT/PSX..problems

I got one of these from the fellow that makes them, and it works great on my 360 via Xconverter, and it also works well with my PS2.

However, I have a weird problem. When playing PS1 games, it won't save or load data from the card. It just says "error". I tried this with two PS2s and a PS1. Also, I tried two different Sony cards.

I'm talking to the fellow about it, but I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem, or could think of a reason why this would happen. Or am I just the only unlucky one?

Have you checked in the SRK thread of his yet? I thought I remember some psx related oddness being mentioned before.
