I played Dead Space, it's a good game and worth replaying. However, if its sequel is anything like it (which I'm pretty sure it is), then 9.5 is way too high a mark for 'lasting appeal', but I suppose it comes down to opinions and that's just mine. The difference with STG's is that they have great lastability because they are score-centric, if you can't understand that then you're a fucking idiot.

I used to read IGN and never came across anything remotely as bad as this review. It deserves all the criticism it gets because it truly is terrible. Like Elixir pointed out, this is about as far removed from a professional review as you can get because the reviewer has a fanboy-ish 'best game ever!' mentality throughout and tells you virtually nothing about the game except that it's amazing and he played through it about three times. Awesome.
