Re: Crimzon Clover
You need to use a program like Joy2Key or XPadder to map the stick directions to keyboard keys. Most arcade sticks are read to the PC as a POV switch, which the game doesn't support.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Ho... that s sad... i have an old madricks adapter and my HRAP2 modded works very nicely (and with the PS3 as well) :/ it maps the stick as POV, sliders and several axis. perhaps you are just poorly calibrated ? give a shot at using the windows calibration tool.@Alaska- wrote:got my copy today

I'm disappointed that there isn't any way I can figure out how to run fullscreen and not have the overscan be larger than my TV. I suppose if I set my desktop background to solid black, that should help when I run in windowed mode...
Is there any behind-the-scenes file I can tweak to fix that?

Yeah... been playing Unlimited mode for the past few days, and I can't help but notice that sometimes the game doesn't register a full-lock and delete. Sometimes, I'll full-lock and kill popcorns with it, but then it won't delete bullets and I die to a sheer wall of death.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Are you sure? You know you can lose the lockons very easily. I think enemy going off from your line of sight is enough to lose the lockon and it can be really annoying when locking on nothing but popcorn.RNGmaster wrote:Yeah... been playing Unlimited mode for the past few days, and I can't help but notice that sometimes the game doesn't register a full-lock and delete. If you're getting the full multiplier then there might be something wrong with the game but that hasn't happened to me.
Re: Crimzon Clover
That's probably it. That happens most often during the section after the lasers in Stage 2, and there are a lot of popcorns there that leave the screen quickly, so...
Really frustrating when that happens, though, no matter the cause. Sometimes I'll be in the midst of a really good run, and then a minor error (read: a lock-on that I though was perfect but wasn't) will result in a death that seems totally out of my control.
Unlimited mode is generally really sweet, but when such a small screw-up can cost you so much score, well...

Hey, where are you in the US? I ordered my copy from Rancor on the 4th and figured it should be here by now.mortified_penguin wrote:A little late to the party but my copy arrived today and I just wanted to give a big thanks to Rancor for selling this lovely gem of a game. Edit: Why aren't my scores or button configurations saving?

I also ordered mine on the 4th, and it shipped on the 6th, but I haven't gotten mine yet either. I live in South Carolina. He said it sometimes takes 15-16 days, and there were apparently some Japanese holidays a week or two ago, so I'm expecting mine at the beginning of next week.burgerkingdiamond wrote: Hey, where are you in the US? Ok. I live in VA so we'll probably get them around the same time. I just wasn't expecting so long. I was kinda worried because I was overseas and had it shipped to my mom's. I thought that maybe she forgot it out front and something happened to it.Anesthetize wrote:I also ordered mine on the 4th, and it shipped on the 6th, but I haven't gotten mine yet either. Re: Crimzon Clover
In my time doing this, I've noticed that shipments to the US typically arrive last.
Gotta be something to do the "The War on Drugs", or "The War on Terror", or whatever the latest fear is. I've gotten feedback from a few users, so i know they're arriving - I just ask that you be patient. They were shipped either the day or day after you got your paypal notification and SAL shipping makes no sense as to what locations get their deliveries first. Sorry I don't have any tracking numbers or anything, but that would be an additional cost. If the packages don't turn up in a month, the Japanese post office has said that they will track them down - but not before.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Yeah, I live in Indiana. I ordered mine on the 11th, so I'm technically still within the 10-14 days range. I'm more concerned about where they'll put it when it does come - my mailbox is one of those small apartment-type ones that can't fit something like that, and I'm not sure how secure it'll be to just leave it by the door until I get back from school. Might be my only option though.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Where I live, the postmen are obligated to ring the recipient if the box is too big to fit the mailbox, as it happens in the shitty apartment where I live in. If it's a house, they usually ring since it's only one family living there. Do you have a caretaker or superintendent that you can warn to/alert to receive the package? I've had to do that a lot while I was at work.
edit: I wouldn't worry if it's taking a bit too long. At least for now. It's january and they have a big delay due to Christmas. I'm still waiting for something shipped last month... The longest I waited for something was two months and two weeks.

Re: Crimzon Clover
I'm having some trouble with either xpadder or Crimson Clover, itself. I set my button for my arcade stick in xpadder and when I get the menu in CC it works just fine, but once I enter the game i cannot move if i am firing or locking on. If i don't fire or lock on I can move just fine. Any ideas?

Re: Crimzon Clover
Hmm, strange. I bought xpadder especially for use with Crimzon Clover, and I haven't had any problems at all with it. I'm using a HRAP EX if it makes a difference. Not sure what your problem could be.mesh control wrote:I'm having some trouble with either xpadder or Crimson Clover, itself. Might try checking to make sure nothing else is mapped in XPadder except the buttons you want.

Created a new profile and made sure nothing was already set and the problem persists. It works fine with my saturn pad, but I'd prefer to play this with my stick.

Re: Crimzon Clover
It finally arrived! Somehow they managed to fit the package inside my mailbox. I can't wait to try this out later.
Thanks for your help rancor.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Strange....what arcade stick do you have? If it's a Madcatz TE, you might try setting the switch between DP/LS and see if that changes anything (you'll have to remap in XPadder of course). If it's a Hori....I dunno.mesh control wrote:Created a new profile and made sure nothing was already set and the problem persists. Re: Crimzon Clover
God, am I seriously running into this problem again?
Unlike what seems to be the convention around here, I'm using a keyboard to play this game. However, since I know my keyboard doesn't let me move diagonally left while holding the Z key, I've set up a way to remap my keys (VirtualJoy). It works perfectly fine with Touhou, but I think it's giving me unwanted issues with CC. Back when I had the trial version, the game would randomly not respond to "menu" inputs with VJoy active, like selecting Game Start or even Exit, but more importantly not letting me pause the game or move to select "No" on the Continue screen (thus forcing me to press Esc and lose all of my hard-earned progress). I had hoped it was just some weird coding in the trial that was messing things up, but somehow the problem persists into the full version. Has anyone else run into this problem, or have any other advice to get around this (no, I'm not switching to a stick; I prefer my keyboard, plus I don't feel like spending extra money on controllers)?
I did get to do something with the game though. Made it to the Stage 4 Boss (Original) on my third try, the others being rage-quits due to bad early performances.
If only this control problem of mine didn't exist, I'd be having a lot more fun with this game.

Re: Crimzon Clover
I'm on a new laptop and I gave CC a few test runs.
Pros:
- Due to more powerful specs (6 GB of RAM, CORE i7 processor), the game runs more smoothly
- There's less loading times
- The brief pause before bosses is gone
Cons:
- Screen is 1366x768, which is an even wider aspect ratio than my old laptop's (1280x800) so play window is smaller. I swear in 1-2 decades, we'll be seeing aspect ratios of 3:1 or even 4:1 =_=
- Due to lower vertical resolution (and one that isn't a multiple of 10, to boot), viewing screen is a bit blocky.
- Some visual oddities--for example FPS counter will show 60.0, but projectiles will look like they're at a lesser framerate

1cc'd Simple mode earlier. Still pretty damn intense on the last stage and especially during the TLB fight. Now to see if I can do the same in Original.
