Alltynex, Kamui, RefleX

Post by Aleksei »

So having aced Alltynex at the end of last year I began to do research on the story of siter skain's stories with no luck except on this site where someone explained RefleX. So is there anyone out there that can explain the coorilation between all three games and the complete stories of Kamui and Alltynex?

(Note: the following part are translated by my friend. I belive his translation is correct, but there might still be a few mistakes. Also, off-topic: could someone translate the plot of Hellsinker, please?)

ALLTYNEX:
In the far future, humans build a super computer called ALLTYNEX. As ALLTYNEX grew more and more intellectual, humans finally realised that ALLTYNEX is probably too intellectual now, and decided to shut it down. However, ALLTYNEX refuse to shut down itself, and immediately declared war against human. Since most weapons are under the direct control of ALLTYNEX, the humans are basiclly screwed. The survivors fled to another planet, and dwelled there for 40 years. However, in this 40 years, many people died of the harsh environment of outer space, until the survivors finally decided that they really have no choice but return to earth. So begins the first and the last attempt of earth recapture.

Of course, they succeeded.

(Sidenote: The stage 5 midboss in ALLTYNEX Second was heavily implied to be the "husk" of Zodiac Ophiuchus.)

RefleX:
The above link has already explained most of the plot.

Kamui:
First, I have to explain some things: there is a total of 8 Kamui fighters been produced in the war with Raiwat. No.5 to No.8 are under control of ALLTYNEX OS, while the control of No.1 to No.4 is unknown. The Kamui fighters in the final stage of RefleX are No.7 and No.8, while the player ship in Kamui been No.2. The Kamui fighters in stage 4 are not "real" Kamui; they are the "mass prodution" type of Kamui. Production of "real" Kamui fighters involves making chips out of the brain of an esper and put it into the fighter. This technology is called "brain fusing". This technology was criticized for been inhumane, but the earth was overruned by Zodiac Devices at that time, so it's not like anyone gives shit about morality anyway.

Dr.Alice De, the scientist that invented brain fusing, has a daughter called Alice De Panifaru. Dr.Alice De tried hard hiding the fact that Panifaru is an esper, but the government eventually discovered her bizarre abilities, and then took her brain out. Dr.Alice De was understandably pissed, and decided to avenge his daughter by blowing up the entire planet. First, he build a huge-ass weapon called "The Judge" (the final boss). Then he reprogrammed ALLTYNEX OS (to make it activate n The Judge when a Kamui fighter enters the chamber of ALLTYNEX OS). Finally, he made a chip out of his own brain and put it into The Judge (not sure how that's done). Now, he just need to wait a "key" to enter the chamber of ALLTYNEX OS. Then The Judge will awake and the humanity will face the judgement of a mad scientist.

Which probably took a lot more time than he expected.

The game itself takes place several centuries after the events of RefleX. The human civilization finally recovered from the great war between humans and Raiwat. But one day, a Kamui fighter (player ship) suddenly awaked, and attempts to wipe out humanity once again, for no apparent reason. This Kamui fighter goes all way down to the chamber of ALLTYNEX OS (which is still functioning after all those years). After the battle, ALLTYNEX OS activated The Judge. But the chip in the No.2 Kamui fighter is actually made of Panifaru's brain, who is surprisingly still partly conscious. When The Judge was activated, Panifaru suddenly regains the control of the fighter, and goes all the way back to orbit to foil her father's plan of human annihilation.

I'm confused by something in here, can you explain this as it happens during the game?

Stage 1: You descends from the orbit to earth. ALLTYNEX OS identified you as a threat and sent troopers to intercept you.
Stage 2,3,4: You fight through the army sent by ALLTYNEX OS.
Stage 5: You entered the chamber of ALLTYNEX OS, fought it and won.
Stage 6: ALLTYNEX OS removed the seal on The Judge. Panifaru regains control of the Kamui fighter. With her remaining conscious, she made the Kamui fighter go back to orbit and destroyed The Judge.

I don't really understand what goes on in Stage 5 of ALLTYNEX Second. Specifically, the mid-boss husk (was this simply recovered before RefleX and incorporated into the Phoenix Mk. 2?) and pretty much everything that happens after you destroy Mother Brain Alltynex (Visitor from Qliphoth Satariel origin, purpose, wing color change, etc).. Can you explain that part?

The husk was brought to earth by a group of Raiwat before the events of ALLTYNEX, along with the core of Ophiuchus.

As of Satariel... As far as I can tell, Siter Skain didn't drop any hint about that, although I might be wrong. The glowing sphere should be the core of Ophiuchus, but beside that I can't tell anything.

FYI:

RefleX is currently a part of the ongoing Indiegala bundle - http://www.indiegala.com
Kamui is currently a part of the ongoing Groupees Doujin bundle - https://groupees.com/doujin2

Here's to hoping that Alltynex unlocks as a bonus game for either of those two bundles :)

According to the guidebook (which is now out in English; Nyu hasn't exactly done a good job of promoting it), there are multiple parallel universes; the ALLTYNEX we see was linked up with its duplicates in the parallel universes that they exist in. Satariel was yanked from one of the parallel universes from which there is no ALLTYNEX as a last-stand measure.

Competition time! RefleX just went to Steam, and I have a download code I was given, but being Mac-scum, I have no PC to play it on. First* person to PM me a picture of a squirrel riding a skateboard, hang glider, penny farthing, tractor or any vaguely novel vehicle gets the code! (Normally I give my spare codes to my London shmup crew, but I thought this time I would share the love with the rest of my forum crew!)

*If two or more people post in the same five minute window, I reserve the right to judge based on squirrel quality (shiny coat, wetness of nose, tail bushiness etc.) and novelty value of vehicle (unicycle trumps car, for example).

I will share the winning picture here, but please PM me, as I don't think mods should be encouraging the clogging up of threads with squirrel imagery.

Contest over! Ironically, and despite a valiant attempt by SePh1r0tH with a lovely skateboarding squirrel photo, a London shmupper got it almost an hour ahead!. Blinge, who cleverly spotted I didn't actually say photo (even I didn't notice that! Blinge sniffed out a loophole!), and provided this wonder! On a bloody penny farthing!

I'll dig out the code for you in the morning mate!
