Looks like it doesn't need applocale for most computers.

Got a better score. The Shrine of Farewell messed with my spirit count and once it was over made my count lower than when I started it (about 3000), but once the run was over my score displayed in the high score chart was 4976.

So yeah, if anyones got any info on how the Shrine of Farewell works please do tell.

OK nevermind... The high score table lists that as the high score because that is what the score was at at its highest (which was at the end of stage 5)

When the Shrine of Farewell starts all your spirits are taken. They are returned at the end (plus more if you killed the boss) via the crystals that you can pick up. If you don't pick up too many, or didn't have success killing the boss, then you are likely to end the Shrine of Farewell with less spirits than you started with. Amount of deaths and speed also affects the end crystals I think..

Also I just watched a all clear replay. Holy shit, that last boss, oh man. Nothing can describe that battle in words, I have never seen something so completely insane before. Nothing else in any other game comes close...

And things get even weirder in the extra missions (The Great Majority, The Way of All Flesh)

The Great Majority is unlocked after clearing the game, The Way of All Flesh is unlocked after clearing The Great Majority.

This game is out of control.

Hoho, my score updated.

It says stage 9 because stage 9 is the Shrine of Farewell. In this run I actually got to the stage 6 boss, but my score was lower than when I was at the Shrine of Farewell because I stuffed the Shrine up. The highscore table in the game lists the stage you were up to at your highest spirit count (as I've touched on before)

Macaw introduced me to this game a little while back and have been playing it on and off ever since...becuase it is just soooo good!!!

Skyrandia - MINOGAME - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - (1B/2B/3L) (SH YES) - 4426

Score would of been a fair bit better then this had I of not bumped into the annoying shrine of farewell that ended up degrading my score.

Still heaps of stuff for me to learn about this game and a lot more enjoyment to be extracted from it!

Edit: forgot to mention that I got to stage 9

Well technically you got to stage 6, you just had more spirits during the shrine. Hoho.

Skyrandia - MINOGAME - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - 6 (1B/2B/3L) (SH YES) - 6296

Yess!!! ultra satisfied with this score because I beat Macaw for once!!

I bet it's probably going to be momentary though but I can still be happy while it lasts :)

I was able to go through the shrine of farewell without losing too much score this time.

I have a replay of this if anyone is interested in seeing it but its not all that great hahah...

Skyrandia - MINOGAME - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - 8 (1B/2B/3L) (SH YES) - 8943 (Replay available)

Did the shrine relatively well but stuffed up segment 7 pretty badly on this run. Otherwise I may of got 10000 spirits with graze and immortality bonuses.

Died about one minute into a battle against some sort of light force which is probably the start of the last boss. I can't be sure though as I dont have a 1cc replay of this game. Does anyone know where I can find one that actually works???

To sum up, the game is way too epic... more people should be playing it!!! :)

I'll post my HS replay up in a little while for those people interested in getting some sort of decent score in it. IMO looking at a replay for this particular game is MUCH better then reading an indepth guide to it.

The replay is not great and on this particular run i do score fairly badly in the first few stages. However I think I still do portray most of the basic tactics needed for generating decent spirit count such as bullet grazing and enemy point blanking.

I'll contribute to the strategy section as well when I get some time.

Here is my replay which SHOULD work for hellsinker V 1.007 and above,

I hope some people can start playing for score as the hs table is looking pretty empty for such a lovely game.

hope this is still alive :P

Zaarock - KAGURA(3) - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - 8 (1L/2L/3B) (SH YES) - 6082

For some reason I didnt get to fight 2L spirit kernel, I got to 7 stella exactly after it died.
Died on hellsinker... lets just say I panicked and later couldnt figure out the pattern with spinning spheres and two alterenating bullet streams in time :?

Loving the new menu music and theme that getting that far unlocked... are there any special properties to that "choose your own path" mode, and do you accept scores for it?

There we go, got the 1cc and only got killed by the TLB twice, it is surprisingly easy, very basic patterns.

Zaarock - KAGURA(3) - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - ALL[TLB] (1L/2L/3B) (SH YES, as 6th) - 13,117

On to extra levels and beating the other last bosses :P

I wonder why so few people play this and this page has so few entries... This is definately one of my favorite shmups now and the overall design of the game is freaking awesome.

This game is far more awesome than I thought it could be... the later stages are amazing.

Really shitty playing on st5 and 6, I basically scored nothing on those stages. First time facing TLB. Seems like the game marks that if you time out or don't face any of the last bosses as [ALL], if you manage to kill the satisfaction #3 last boss but don't face the TLB you get [PRA], also possible to get stuff like [AL3] etc... but I'm really not sure what they are. ALL clear including TLB gets marked with nothing.

Can we have a scoreboard for the Score Attack stage as well? Way more simple scoring: You just pick off the juicy parts from enemies before killing the weak main body or unchain enemies from the master, new enemies spawn as soon as you kill the previous ones. Also this mode is really well balanced between characters since you only really need the main shot.

Anyway here's the score attack score:
LtC - KAGURA(2) - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - Clear - 9,685
Possible to get bit over 15k with a completely ideal run but even this required some work.

Here's video for the score attack.

And here's a little better full run although it was full of mistakes.
LtC - KAGURA(2) - Unplugged - Mom - Mod - Asp - ALL[TLB] (1B/2L/3L) (SH YES, as 8th) - 21,387

Also I suggest that all scores should use the default settings for bootleg ghost and amount of max lives since they affect scoring quite a bit, specially if you put on solidstate. I got an 11k better run on solidstate when I tried so it felt sort of unfair.

That means you've got a few months.

Won't be difficult. I can't score for shit with her. I watched a replay of Minogame on Segment 1 Lead that scored about 11k Spirits. I don't hate my life enough to learn that much about scoring with her, lol. I was content to leave the Shrine with 9800 after finishing Rex Cavalier.

EDIT: jay kay, Extra Stages are pretty easy, lol.
