Something I've wanted for a long time but was too lazy to do my research/experimentation to do: make a bootleg Recal Horn cart from the ROM files.
The technical aspect is admired. Ripping people off for IP's you don't own is not:

Someone posted this on youtube:
The game did not get past prototype because the people who played the test version in Japan thought that the controls were too simplistic and that it didn't have a good storyline. That is why Taito cancelled Recalhorn.

I played a bit in MAME a few months ago and it's a nice, fun platformer. It's a shame it got cancelled.

They cancelled it because people complained about the story in an arcade platformer? That's just sad.

My main draw is that it's Taito's only non-Bubble Bobble platformer on their F3 hardware. Reminds me of Little Nemo on NES (with the whole animal riding gimmick)... and it's fun
Just did some surfing on my lunch break and found
some DIY F3 boot cart guides . Looks like the cat has officially escaped the bag since my last F3 article

Thought for sure this was some sort of misspelled kinky sex post. Rectal Horn Boot for the win!
<@scootnet> if you were a real gamer, you could jerk it to Super Metroid box art

Well, I suppose if you weren't careful jumping over the bull boss, you could achieve that!

The main reason is probably becasue the game is too easy... people were not inserting enough coins

It looks easy alright - reminds me of the Sonic games in terms of how the levels look albeit without the same depth (size) or speed.

It's not THAT easy. I tried beating it but I recall having trouble in some areas (and especially the octopus boss). With some savestate practice you could beat it easily, but in the arcades it'd take a bunch of credits to do it.
If anything, the game is too short. IIRC there are 9 stages and they don't last long.

You should have asked on my forums. This was done years ago.

This actually looks like something worth playing. It's very home console-like though, I can see it not doing too well in an arcade.
