100 digit seems smaller in 3.0.dannnnn wrote:The two pics he posted with the arrow pointing at the gem count are different. The one from ShmupMAME 3.0 shows the '100' digits spaced out far apart. I got the same thing when I tried it earlier too.nimitz wrote:

Oh, i think this is due to some pgm video driver fixes that happened somwhere between 99 and 141. It's probably an easy fix to backport.

Seems like the icons used in the counters are off in Ketsui. The top row shouldn't be hidden behind the next row and the current chip display seems way too big. Is it just me? (Please ignore my terrible play)

Dunno if itll fix shmupmames xc0000005 fault as its all concerning different programmes (and ive also read recommendations to run programmes like regscrub and CC cleaner although I dont see how cleaning the registry can have an effect on an application that isnt installed).
Anyway im tired Ill leave it all for tomorrow night

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
I managed to find a workaround for the previous issue I posted about in this thread, by giving ShmupMame 3.0 an exception in the Data Execution Prevention list.
This is def. a workaround, since if DEP is tripping something in the code, there's def. still something going wrong under the hood.
Also there is some sort of issue with sprite scaling in PGM games, the counters in Espgaluda are not scaled at all.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
I dont know why I didnt bother googling the problem earlier for ver 1.5. Anway anyone who gets the 0xc000005 application wont start fault just visit this site which has the DEP fix and other fixes if by chance making an DEP exeption doesnt work.
(admin deleted link to site full of dodgy malware scanners and pirated software etc)
Reading though the site it says that its to do with a program using certain parts of the memory that is simlar to malware which causes windows though the DEP system to cockblock mame. It makes sense why in my case rebooting several times sometimes got the app to work if by chance it used different memory addresses that DEP thought was safe. Also explains why the fault got worse as my then new PC got older and I made driver, reg and other changes as time went by.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Yeah, I got the 0xc000005 error as well (I'm also using Windows 7 64-bit). Everything was working great last night, then after I booted it today I got the error. Tried fixing any registry issues with CCleaner, but it didn't help. No worries, I'll just use v2.2 and regular MAME until somebody figures it out.
Does anyone know if something happened to certain GNet games in a recent version of MAME? In 0.141, some are giving me a blue screen with the message "Cannot find program ROM - Error B930". I recently updated everything, so I don't think anything's out of date. Of ones that I've tried;
Affected - Psyvariar Revision, Shikigami no Shiro, Ray Crisis
OK - Chaos Heat, Super Puzzle Bobble, Psyvariar Medium Unit, XII Stag
The ones giving the error still work in shmupmame v2.2 however.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Eeek, sorry I didnt take much notice in all that crap just the DEP fix.(admin deleted link to site full of dodgy malware scanners and pirated software etc)
Ive copy and pasted the 0xc000005 DEP fix
DEP Exceptions
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature introduced in Windows XP SP2 that monitors proper usage of system memory and prevents execution of malicious programs installed on your computer. The error with 0xc0000005 code informs you that DEP trapped an attempt to run a suspicious application.
Configuring DEP Exceptions in Windows Vista (and win7):
1.Click the Start button => Control Panel => System and Maintenance => System.
2.Choose Advanced System Settings. Further actions require Administrator permission. To continue you need to enter the Administrator password or confirm your actions if you operate as the Administrator.
3.In the window that opens under Performance click Settings.
4.Click the Data Execution Prevention tab (along the top), and choose “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”.
5.To disable DEP for an individual program click Add, find the executable ( .exe) file for the program
and then click Open.
6. Click Apply to save changes.

EDIT - Well, for a bit at least. The error came back after I booted today, then Windows Explorer crashed. Maybe I'll wait for 3.0b...

are you actually playing the game stretched to 16:9?MEDIEVAL_MIKU wrote:Seems like the icons used in the counters are off in Ketsui. The top row shouldn't be hidden behind the next row and the current chip display seems way too big. Is it just me? (Please ignore my terrible play)

If you hit F12 to take a screenshot MAME dumps out a pixel accurate snap

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Meaning what? The picture is stretched but the actual game was 4:3? Why is that?cools wrote:If you hit F12 to take a screenshot MAME dumps out a pixel accurate snap

That's how PGM games are output. It's an arcade game after all, so weirdness can be expected.jonny5 wrote:Meaning what? The picture is stretched but the actual game was 4:3? Why is that?cools wrote:If you hit F12 to take a screenshot MAME dumps out a pixel accurate snap

Never question Mame's accuracy, it is superior to PCB weirdness.

Gotta love those rectangular (non-square) pixels.

Do I have to change my rom names? Only DOJ v2 is working from the roms used in 2.2
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Ahh thats a shame, luckly I havnt had the error since I did the dep fix which is 5 reboots back now, finger crossed I dont get it again. Just FYI the 0xc00005 error could be Registry needing fixing, a virus, bad RAM (try running memtest), Video or other driver faults. Ive even read ppl recommending u dont use shortcuts but click on the exe itself.MadScientist wrote:Worked for me. Thanks Trev.

One thing I did do before the DEP fix was to stop unesseccary programs from starting up automatically when windows starts up. Like Steam, Torrent utility, Daemon Tools lite if I need them I can start them up later. If it is mame using certain parts f system memory thats tripping the 0xc0005 error then it makes sense (to a layman like me anyway) to have as few other programmes running at the same time all competing for RAM.

Maybe gamebooster will help, too. I think it shuts down a lot of unnecessary tasks. I'll give it a whirl when I get home, but i kept crashing even with the dep fix.

How about testing to see if v3 / v1.5 works in safemode?
Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Just a question, can I safely change my monitor refresh rate to 58 or 59 hz trough the NVIDIA control panel without damaging my (CRT) monitor? Does it matter if I chose progressive or interlaced?
The control panel warns about setting custom refresh rates but I don't know if this applies to lower or higher ones. I haven't found a way to get rid of the tearing and microstutter in cave games without adding input lag.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
You can try. If your monitor doesn't like it, it'll give an OUT OF SYNC or something on the screen and you can just turn it off really fast (let the 15 sec thing time out).
Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Using Shmupmame 3.0, how do I get games to appear in PIXEL ASPECT ratio? For instance, GigaWing has a 12:7 pixel aspect ratio, but I can't get it to display in anything other than 4:3.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Thanks, just wanted to make sure.
I tried 58hz and wow, silk smooth, it's awesome. The microstutter is about completely gone. Tried 57 and 59 just in case but it was not as good.
There's still tearing tho, a regular line that scans the screen about every two seconds but I think I can live with it. I don't think there's a way around that without input lag.

Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Looking at mame .99 which this is based on, that did not have the option to change between pixel and screen ration yet. The CPS systems just have a weird pixel ratio, but they are still supposed to be viewed stretched 4:3. That's what you get in the arcade on a proper screen.borislaw wrote:Using Shmupmame 3.0, how do I get games to appear in PIXEL ASPECT ratio? Re: Shmupmame v3.0, Lagless Raizing, Galuda DOJ Ketsui, and more
Yeah, unless you're on an arcade monitor or have specific needs, the game ought to be in 3:4 aspect ratio (so MAME set to 4:3, or 16:9, or 16:10, depending on your monitor).ptoing wrote:Looking at mame .99 which this is based on, that did not have the option to change between pixel and screen ration yet.
