At 64kbps you could be listening to anything and it'd all sound the same. Time to see the doc. Gotta be at least 192.
iTunes gives you 128kbs, and it seems fine. My equipment sux, though. I mostly play music from my laptop, using inexpensive Creative Zen speakers.

My Zen MP3 player has great, simple software, but it's just 1GB so I don't usually have more than about 19 albums at a time. I usually rotate once or twice a week.
iTunes can convert WMA files to MP3? I thought that software was just for iPods.

At 128kps Mp3s, I can stuff about 15 albums into my 1GB Zen Nano.

My method: I burn a disc from iTunes; then go from the disc to my MP3 player. I believe it is the Zen software that converts the data to MP3 format. Works great.

And yeah, maybe 15 albums at 128kps is about what my 1GB Zen Nano holds-- I rarely bother to stuff it full.

I currently have 14,671 songs (encoded at 128KBps CBR MP3) on my 80GB iPod. It has 6.6 GB of space left on it, which I hope to have filled up soon - I just need to rip a few more CDs yet.

5,845 songs taking up 33.6 gbs on my 64gb ipod touch. Most of my stuff is >192, except for most obscure stuff where I can find only 128kbs mp3's.

1.89gb on my first gen iPod Nano. Keep waiting for the little bastard to die so I can justify upgrading.

For me since I use Minidiscs (just got into it) and use cassettes it's more of 74 min 59 sec on Minidiscs and usually 90 minute (45 min per side) on tape.

I'm still using a second-gen Zune and a Zunepass subscription, but most of the time if I'm listening to music it's going to be on my PC, so the Zune mostly gets used on long car trips these days. I've got about 2-3GB worth of a permanent collection (mostly classic rock) on there, with the rest varying depending on moods.
