Has anyone ever been involved with a rom hack/translation?
Has anyone ever been involved with a rom hack/translation?
So I offered to help this guy translate Metal Slader Glory: Director's Cut for the Super Famicom from Japanese into English. The game uses a script.txt, dictionary.txt, and a table.txt file. I have no idea how these are all interwoven. The dictionary text file has either words or parts of words and I don't understand how it interacts with the script. The guy who will be doing the hacking is new to SFC/SNES. He's done older stuff like PC-8801 titles before, but that's it. Here's his website. This may be more ambitious than either of us are ready for. Has anyone here done any this sort of thing before?

Undamned is the leading English-speaking expert on the consolized UD-CPS2 because he's the one who made it.

I was one of the translators for Phantasy Star IV in Portuguese.
