Ninja Gaiden 2
This game may have some flaws but most games do otherwise 10 rating would be a dime a dozen.
I'm glad to see some others on here are really getting some fun out of it and not bitching about "cheap" shots. I honestly had no issues with projectiles until the return to ryu's village near the end. Even still I didn't feel punished, just challenged.
they are very generous on ninja magic this time and you are expected to use all you assets.
Alot has to do with knowing whats coming up a bit to be prepared and even NG was very guilty of needing to know what to expect and how to handle it......
Regardless of it's flaws it was very much a great next gen experience for me.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
I just finished my first play through of Warrior with a karma score of 18,234,715. I'm about to start a new game on Mentor so we'll see how she picks up.
I thought the most cheap section with the projectiles was in the beginning of Zedonius' stage, which I think was chapter 9, where you're fighting mechs in a long open courtyard and soldiers with rocket launchers spawn on either end. Other than that, I thought it was pretty fair.I'm glad to see some others on here are really getting some fun out of it and not bitching about "cheap" shots. I got this a little while back, and was able to beat it the other night on Acolyte.
I see the issues people have with it(camera, projectiles etc.), but I thought it was a really good game, and was very fun. I'd give it a solid 8.
I enjoyed it more than DMC4, as a comparison.
My main gripe with it is that it was so much of an action game, that I think they cut out some of the cool stuff that was in Black. Some more of the adventuring, you know? That's why I love GOW so much, is because it's got a great balance between adventuring and action.
But yeah, this was an intense and fun action game. I liked it a good deal. One of the best games i've bought for this generation of systems.

I'm playing it on Mentor now and there actually is a pretty good tactical reason for doing these after an enemy is dead. Since you cannot take damage while performing an obliteration technique, you can avoid taking damage from exploding shurikens by doing an OT after getting stuck.Elixir wrote: But, while that's all very well and dandy, there's a high portion of the time where you can just do obliteration techniques even after you've cut their heads off. Okay, looks cool, but it's only for score and to show off. There doesn't seem to be any point to doing this post-death.

That wasn't too bad. If you kill off the black spider ninjas, they stop spawning and you can focus on Genshin, who isn't that tough. I was stuck on the Spider boss for longer. I'm up to the first Test of Valor now.jp wrote:I quit playing on Mentor at the bullshit Genshin fight (end of stage 2).
Fuck that.

Yeah, they're real cunts in the spider boss fights. The updated ninjas you fight in the first Test of Valor on Mentor are fucking bastards. God only knows what Master ninja is like.jp wrote:Oh, I didn't know the spider-ninjas quit spawning, so I was just trying to avoid them.
They don't in the other boss fights I've encountered though.

Re: Ninja Gaiden 2
I just cleared Path of the Mentor and started Path of the Master Ninja and holy shit is it tough. Much, much harder than Mentor. I'm curious if anyone here has cleared it.

I cleared master ninja.. that was not fun. Mentor is the perfect difficulty imo.
Espgaluda III needs to happen.
Re: Ninja Gaiden 2
How long did it take you? I was stuck at a spot in the first chapter so I restarted it so I'd be in a better position. I have a feeling I'll be needing a few different saves so I can re-do portions easily if need be.

It didnt take me too long. Just keep in mind the game gets easier the further you get. I would recommend you not upgrade the sword since it auto lvl 4 after chapter 11? Pump money into lunar and claw.

I thought this thread would be about the NES game. What's with the game industry and doing sequels to old franchises simply called "Test Drive" or "The Bard's Tale"?
Humans, think about what you have done
Re: Ninja Gaiden 2
I made some progress on the first chapter, I'm just short distance from the boss now. I think my trouble so far has been mostly because of the limited move set. I glanced at some FAQs and they mentioned holding on to the sword upgrades but the sword is one of my go to weapons so I'll end up focusing my upgrades on that and the scythe.DragonInstall wrote:It didnt take me too long. Re: Ninja Gaiden 2
Yeah its best to go with what you're comfortable with. Once you get the scythe, the game gets much much easier. That weapon is overpowered.
Once I got that, I dumped all my money and leveled it max right away.

I know you guys are talking xbox/360, but I've been playing sigma 2 and it is so fucking amazing.

Re: Ninja Gaiden 2
It's one of those games where once you get a handle on it, the game gives you more than adequate tools to overcome some of the shortcomings (particularly the camera). The weapons all play very differently and are a lot of fun to dick around with, especially in new game+ when you can just fuck shit up right from the start. If I ever get around to buying a PS3, I'd grab the two Sigmas to see how the extra content is. Purple blood or whatever in 2 is lame though.

It's funny I keep putting off completing my Mentor difficulty run and keep playing the online co-op missions. They're a blast if you find a good partner with optimal lag and it's not like you're going to run out of challenge with the Ultimate ninja and Master ninja missions
