A: I've never been married so I don't think the term would apply, but even so I've never been cheated on. (As far as I know, that is).

Q: What children's shows from your childhood do you still remember the theme song lyrics to? For me it's Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers and TMNT.

If you could only have one console to play on for the rest of time, but any and all of the games for it, which would it be?

A: The Super NES would be a good compromise between quality and quantity of games, at the sweet spot of videogame design between good games with serious display and CPU limitations (e.g. NES) and the decay brought about by 3D graphics (e.g. Playstation). The equally good PC Engine family has better shmups but less of everything else.

Q: What stupid, degrading, ill-designed etc. console, arcade machine, handheld, or miscellaneous game hardware would you be embarrassed to be seen playing? (Without consideration for the shamefulness of the games themselves: there's plenty of outrageous titles for any platform.)

A: Sega's latest epic awesome console which requires you to piss in the toilet, to play. Aaand any console that is pink.

A:
Recently: Blade Kitten. The characters out weight the bland gameplay.

Traditionally: One Must Fall 2097. Great DOS fighting game that never got a proper sequel (I got kicked of the battlegrounds beta for repeatedly stating how shitty it was) and is largely forgotten by the mainstream fighting crowd.

Q: With all the recent re-releases of classic games (VC, Mario All Stars, Megadrive Collection), do you think gaming culture can hit a point where classic games start getting a Criterion Collection-style treatment?

A: I would say it has already happened. I think the PS2 Sega Ages releases done by M2 come pretty close to what the Criterion treatment would be for games. However, it's hard to say how it will play out in the future, as carrier media are on their way out, so you wouldn't have fancy booklets anymore, for example.

A: After 2000 (aka when old SNK died) the franchise went shit. And nope, 98/2002UM while are great games, the new and upcoming main entries. Are completely shit too.

Q: Street Fighter series: Considering SFIV/SSFIV pale hard compared to 3rd strike in graphics and gameplay department. Do you think Capcom will be DUMB enough to keep the 3D graphics idiocy and uberly-simplified gameplay in future? (Tip: They already ruined some of their major franchises)

A: God I wish. I used to have a Bike when I was 18, and I would even compete at some of the motorcross tracks around Ontario.
Thats my old ride. Obviously not quite the correct answer to the question, but it brought back fond memories.

I think some language issues are coming into play here. In native English I always think of a bike as a bicycle or a motorcycle... but probably bicycle for this question. (Where I live, however, Bike = motorcycle every time). So, I'll answer both just for shits & giggles.

I cycle like a mofo. Swore to myself I wouldn't puss out this winter, so I'm cycling to work/gym/even going out to bars. :) I ride a Louis Garneau Casper. One of the few bicycles available in this country that fit me.

I have a friend that crashed and broke his collarbone cycling home from a bar. The police that came to his rescue also issued him a DUI.

My answer is actually two-pronged. It would be either of two people I worked for, and who are really wicked individuals, not just your typical dickish boss.

One is the manager of a bakery, someone who *needs* to really cuss horribly at people to make himself feel better. He'd go down getting cut with circular saw blades.

Or the owner of an insurance agency. A hypocritical asshole such as him deserves to get shot in the shins, knees, hands, elbows, shoulders and finally face. In that order.

Q: Speaking of circular saws and similar equipment, have you ever gotten injured with tools or industrial equipment? Please explain if it was an actual accident, or due to negligence.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

I already broke my collar bone on my bicycle at the age of 5 (sober) so I'm all karma'd up.

A: Yep... lawn mower. Total accident. Luckily it was a total piece of shit. eg, I still have the tips of 2 of my fingers. Hurt like a mofo though.

A: Full album.

Q: A couple of years ago, I was reading Salem's Lot by Stephen King. It's (as you might know) a vampire story. I was reading while on a break at work, and the break room was right next door to the factory I worked at so it was very loud. Once of my co-workers (knowing what I was reading) jumped in through a side entrance and hissed like a cat/cheesy vampire and managed to scare the living daylights outta me, that right away turned into a laugh attack.

What was your best scare?

A: I was supposed to be out of town visiting family but I came home a day early, late at night. I headed down the basement stairs to go into my office at around 2AM, and as I glanced across the family room and out the sliding glass door into the back yard.. there was a guy with his face pressed to the glass staring in at me. It was by far the most startled I've ever been.

At that time I kept a 9mm hanging in my office closet. I grabbed that and gave chase but he got away.

I'm guessing that he was going to break in, but I will never know for sure. It turned out to be my next-door neighbor's oldest kid. They were the only people that knew my schedule, so he didn't think I was home. Sadly, he has since died of a heroin overdose.

Q: Have you ever been in a situation where you threatened anyone with a weapon of any kind, and would you do so in the above scenario?

EDIT: I was too slow but I'll leave this one up.

to answer Lordstar's question:

Mountain Dew....with caffeine. We had it here for a while but they called it Mountain Dew Fuel, but they pulled it because apparently it had too much caffeine. We still have Mountain Dew but it's always been caffeine free. I mainly liked it because it had a shit-ton of caffeine without all the nonsense like guarana and taurine that are in most energy drinks.

sort of the best scare still:

I've lived in some pretty crack infested neighbourhoods, and often times the crackheads seem to congregate on the front stoops of the buildings, so one time I was coming down my stairs and I could hear them on the other side of the door, so I kicked it wide open suddenly and watched them all scatter like roaches. What made it funny was the one dude let out a yell like a girl and dropped all his crack. Then he started crying. It was hilarious. Man, I hate crackheads!!

For brentsg's question:

I would have shot his ass for sure! I've pulled knives and bats on hoodlums and crackheads tons of times, I don't play!

Man.. I had forgotten about this.

I made 2 trips to Montreal last fall and was shocked to find that Mountain Dew had no caffeine. I learned the hard way too, buy buying a couple cans for a kick-start during an overnight working session. We've always had loads of caffeine in our Mountain Dew.

I'll handle this one, I guess. Some time ago I was genuinely interested in this.

There are several schools of thought on the matter that largely depend on whether we'll have technological breakthroughs freeing us from fossil fuels and providing us with food supply that can account for population growth, or not. If the answer to this is yes, it's unlikely we'll have to deal with it. If no, it's more than likely we'll have to deal with it until 2030. "Luckily", most of us will still be young enough by then to be able to do at least something to save our asses. Another, possilby less likely but way more intriguing, set of options is technological singularity, by means of which we either get superintelligent entities previously called computers to deal with (see: Terminator, the Matrix), or gain the ability to effectively immortalize ourselves by uploading our persona to a virtual world (again, akin to the Matrix), where, due to immense processing speeds, time flows so slow it will be an eternity until something happens to our physical bodies, if those will even be necessary to sustain our entities at all by that point. But that's all speculation, so let's get back to the first set of options.

It all depends on how bad everything will be, really. As soon as the world runs out of basic resources it's going to be a huge mess as the less privileged layers of society will take on those that have personal and communal reserves. There might be other causes for that, too, so let's focus on the result rather than the cause. If it's a non-thermonuclear war, it's one thing, if it's a global cataclysm, whether natural or man-made (like grey goo, however unlikely that might be, or a rogue strangelet), whatever you do isn't going to matter much.

So let's see about the first one then. As major cities have both the highest population density and the highest concentration of material wealth and resources, it's important to understand that they are the most dangerous places you could ever be. Missile attacks, rampant marauding, nuclear reactors powering them up — not something you want to be close to at that point. That doesn't leave you with many options, really, so let's assume that in the worst case scenario you won't be able to travel the world freely and have to make do with nearby pieces of land, any large masses of people are dangerous, and there is no or very little food available so you have to survive on your own.

The main precaution would be building a small fortified bunker before you smell trouble for however many you wish to take with you somewhere in the mountains (or at least deep in the woods, but mountains are better because they don't burn that easily, and the air is generally cleaner) near a natural spring so that you could have access to a renewable supply of drinking water. Depending on the quality of the spring you can also use it as a renewable energy generator. Without the access to natural water you aren't going to do shit, because you don't know how long you're going to have to live there.

Of course that's going to cost you a lot depending on how serious you are about it, so the more you can handle yourself the better. If you have a truck it will make things easier, of course. Obviously, the less people know about your shelter (or the fact that it is a shelter), the safer it is, so if you hire somebody to build it, break the process into different parts and hire a separate company for each one never explaining the purpose of the object.

Pretty much everything will have to be done in advance so that you wouldn't have to gather the needed resources and armaments when shit has already hit the fan. Among the basic things you'll need food for as many years as you're planning to live there, an emergency reserve of clear water, means of basic hygiene so that you don't succumb to ugly illnesses, weapons for hunting (and possibly warding off marauders), hermetically sealed dry fuel, inorganic ropes (they last longer), sealed matches, flints, lots of sealed batteries, stainless knives and tupperware, warm clothes and blankets (synthetic fiber is lighter, lasts longer and is more resistant to parasites and mould), means of basic camouflage, silica gel for dehydration (important if your bunker is at least partially underground), radio equipment (both a transmitter and a receiver, so that you could know what's going on in the world and could communicate if needed), means of personal transport (skis or snowshoes, possibly a mountain bike with a trunk, a sled for heavy loads or immobile people), a writing set with ample amount of hermetically sealed paper so you could make notes and keep a diary. Depending on the amount of space you have you can take other useful things as well.

You'll need a hearty supply of literature, especially so in case you take childred with you, so that you could pass time doing something useful. You'll need encyclopedic reference on geology, chemistry, biology, physics, applied math, as well as applied guides to spelunking, basic agriculture, hunting, outdoor survival, and lots of medical references. Dictionaries and language textbooks are optional but are a welcome addition.

Depending on its quality and storage conditions, canned food can last 5 years, up to 10 if you're lucky and/or desperate. Dehydrated food (such as rusk or dry noodles) will last for decades. I had a list of long-lasting things somewhere… The vast majority of medical substances lose their medical properties after two years, so if the nearby soil isn't contaminated you could try growing some herbs yourself.

Also keep in mind that material wealth will be devaluated as soon as the deficit kicks in, so fuel, food, weapons, and high quality tools will be the hardest currency.

There's probably enough information for this to have its own topic, so I'll end it here.

Also, not in the mood for a clever question, so I'll leave emph's unanswered so somebody could take it:
