So, for some time now I've been at war with my snes. First my controller broke, then I bought a new controller, only to later realize it was a Genesis controller (how did I do that?), then I got a new controller, but it didn't work right, somehow controlled both first and second player at once (with no 2nd player plugged in either)and none of the buttons worked properly. Finally, I got a new controller, but I don't know if it works because my power cord is busted.
What happened is that the cord has broken off at the head, where the box part is. I doubt I'll be able to find a new one around very easily. Is there anyway I can repair it?
I'll beat the snes. Considered trading it in for another, non-cursed snes.

You can get plugs from an electronics parts store, should only cost a dollar or two. If you don't have the old plug to use as a sample, bring the whole SNES in and see if you can get a plug to match. The SNES has a sort of weird plug, where the centre pin is on the plug end (instead of the socket like most other DC jacks), but you should still be able to get the part.
Failing that, try to get another old SNES at a flea market/thrift store/garage sale. Or, even a Virtual Boy AC kit, it's the same adapter.
