Portable game systems: a death and a birth

Post by Stormwatch »

A DEATH...

The Tapwave Zodiac, an award-winning, Palm-powered portable game system, is being discontinued.

...AND A BIRTH

Korean manufacturer GamePark, maker of GP32, has announced their new machine: the GPX2, a Linux-based portable game / multimedia system. It can play several audio & video formats, run emulators, ebooks, and other apps, yadda yadda. Still early, but sounds really cool.

Very interesting!

I ought to get one before they become impossible to find. I hope I don't miss the boat this time!

The GPX2 looks great, but I hope that thumbstick is a microswitched dealy like the one on the NGPC. I don't care for analog sticks much, especially on emulated games.
