Ten minutes is an understatement if you ask me.
More like a ridiculous exaggeration. The only boss that clocks at around that time is Great thing (and Titanic Lance, but that's a whole stage).
Necro edit: Actually all bosses self-destruct after four minutes without dying. When you lose a ship it adds an additional 30 seconds or a minute to the self-destruct timer. If bosses are really taking that long you must be dying a lot or even credit feeding.

I'm really sorry I missed this ridiculous argument before. People who think you need to join their little club to have a valid opinion should really keep quiet. Their elitism is an embarrassment to us all.
EDIT: My high score is greater than anything in the Darius Gaiden thread anyway.

Of course, that's just an opinion. Always seeking netplay fans to play emulated arcade games with.
It is disappointing that that's how scoring turned out in Darius Gaiden. A route ending in Zone V is not quite the best route for points though (nor is it the easiest). But it does get pretty tough when you destroy boss body parts for points, which increases the rank. The best route for points is straight up to Great Thing, due solely to milking the hell out of the little drill enemies it spawns.

Interestingly that most Japanese players clear the game with rapid autofire, even on official superplays. If you want some "unofficial" default autofire, use MAMEPlus and set the autofire delay to 4 or 5. I tried it and yes it's not too game-breaking.

NO.

Clear the game with default autofire is really worth rewarding, but WITHOUT??
Unless your fingers are made from machine or something like that, I mean who the hell someone would doing that?

Sorry if it wasn't clear; in that really old post I was referencing the super rapid autofire cheats, not the default built-in autofire the game already has when you hold the shot button down. The former cracks it wide open; the latter suits the game nicely.
